Initial funding was generated via donations and volunteerism amongst Lunada Bay residents and the Lunada Bay Homeowners Association. The City of Palos Verdes Estates will provide mulch, stones, and boulders from their existing reserves. The Palos Verdes Peninsula Land Conservancy is growing native plants for the Pilot Project. Plans for a one acre Pilot Project adjacent to Lunada Bay Elementary School crosswalks, at the intersection of Paseo Lunado and Via Anacapa, have been approved by the City.
