Hi from Nat’l. Chevy, We are really looking forward to spring. Today is March 19 and we received a couple more inches of snow at the shop and about 8 1/2 inches at home so the parts cars are buried once again. It was just getting to where we were melting down a little and it starts all over. Thirty degrees doesn’t really feel all that good. The catalog is almost done. I’m just waiting for a couple changes and hopefully we’ll be ready to print. I know you’re all waiting for one and be assured you’ll get one when they’re done. There’s not much else to talk about right now. Just kind of the same old. Keep sending those pictures (I have been getting some really good ones). ‘Til next time......

In the last newsletter the request was made for additional car stories. So I am submitting informationand pictures of my 1951 Sedan Delivery for your consideration to publish. Also I wanted to use this opportunity to extend my thanks and appreciation to everyone at NCA for your advice, support, and the determination I know it takes to bring all your great products to market to allow us to preserve and extend the life of these wonderful old Chevies. My car has trim, buttons, knobs, hardware, handles, and who knows what else that you make available, to help me make this classic whole again. The passion and nostalgia I have for Chevy sedan deliveries was born from one my Dad owned as a parts runner back in the day for use with his service station and tire business. My ‘51 delivery lives again now in the custom category with frenched lights, shaved doors, louvers, and a nosed front end. I love two tone paint cars and found this vehicle a perfect example to provide that look on the body, upholstery, and the dash. The body first went back to bare metal to discover very few issues and was then sprayed with Riverside Red and India Ivory. I was thrilled to find vinyl colors that were a spot on match to the paint colors. I was fortunate to find an original pair of correct era seats to aid in returning a correct look to the vehicle. The side panels of a delivery are screaming for something and for mine I chose a theme to jointly represent my state of residence and a font style to identify my interest in collecting various items of a particular soft drink. Can you guess what that is? I felt the theme would resonate well with people when I showed or cruised the car but even in that I have been amazed at the very high level of interest and response to the car. This delivery went off the line as a heat delete

vehicle headed to California. I always liked the look of those dash slide units and buttons to control heat / air / defrost. So I installed a control unit but instead of putting heat into the car, the slides control the driver and passenger door poppers, and a power antenna respectively. Another feature are the nifty NCA window
cranks which rotate forward to activate a switch for the power windows in the car. Underneath it has a Mustang II front end and a nothing special small block 350 that provide reliability and makes it a fun, easy to drive old Chevy.
These projects do not get done alone and I want to say thanks to Dean for his very special efforts on the paint and body. Every time I have it out, there are compliments about the quality of the work he performed. Also many thanks to Bob and Molly for their attention to detail effort in creating the look I wanted for the interior. Plus normal headliners can be a task and one this long is
surely no fun. Finally a huge thank you to my friend Jon for his time and expertise working with me to get this project complete. I can not thank him enough for all his help. Oh yeah, one more thing - the new vent window handles just arrived and will soon be in the car! So NCA you can add one more vehicle to your list of those saved as a result of all you do. You have my fond appreciation for your help in allowing me to do so.
Phill EmmertColorado Springs, CO
PS: If you end up in this region and you see the Colorado Cruiser out at a show - stop by I’ll have a cold soft drink available for you.

Now Showing ____________________________National Chevy, I thought you might enjoy my 1950 panel delivery pictures that is still in the process of restoring now. The car was purchased from an estate, after the original owner was killed in a motorcycle accident. The entire drive train was replaced, starting with 350 Chevy crate engine, TH 350 trans. and Camaro rear. National Chevy supplied the radiator along with many other needed parts. Interior of the car is still a work in progress. Body work and re-paint was completed last spring. The paint was called Hot Rod Satin Black. Some re-chrome or new National Chevy items are still needed to complete the job. I really enjoy the Parts-Line newsletter and have taken advantage of the parts and classified ads numerous times. Keep up the good work. Thanks much.
Take care,Randy BeckDavenport, Iowa
