INTRODUCTION
1. Scope
This manual lists spares and repair parts; specialtools; special test, measurement, and diagnosticequipment (TMDE), and other special supportequipment required for performance of organiza-t i ona l and d i r ec t suppo r t ma in t enance o f t heC-6280(P)/APX and C-6280A(P)/APX. It authorizesthe requisitioning and issue of spares and repairparts as indicated by the source and maintenancecodes.
2. General
This Repair Parts and Special Tools List is dividedinto the following sections:
a. Section II. Repair Parts List. A list of sparesa n d r e p a i r p a r t s a u t h o r i z e d f o r u s e i n t h eperformance of maintenance. The list also includesparts which must be removed for replacement ofthe authorized parts. Parts lists are composed offunctional groups in numeric sequence, with theparts in each group l is ted in f igure and i temnumber sequence.
b. Section III. Special Tools List. Not applicable.c. Section IV. National Stock Number and Part
Number Index. A list, in National item identifica-tion number (NIIN) sequence, of all National stocknumbers (NSN) appearing in the listings, followedby a l is t , in alphameric sequence, of al l partnumbers appearing in the listings. National stocknumbers and part numbers are cross-referencedto each illustration figure and item number ap-pearance.
3. Explanation of Columns
a. Illustration. This column is divided as follows:(1) F i g u r e n u m b e r . I n d i c a t e s t h e f i g u r e
number of the illustration on which the item isshown.
(2) Item number. The number used to identifyitem called out in the illustration.
b. Source, Maintenance, and Recoverability (SMR) Codes.
(1) Source code. Source codes indicate themanner of acquir ing support i tems for mainte-nance. repair, or overhaul of end items. Sourcecodes are entered in the first and second positionsof the Uniform SMR Code format as follows:Code Definition
PA — Item procured and stocked for anticipatedor known usage.
X D – A support item that is not stocked. Whenrequired, item will be procured throughnormal supply channels.
NOTECannibalization or salvage may be usedas a source of supply for any items sourcecoded above except those coded XA andaircraft support items as rest restricted byAR 700-42.(2) Maintenance code. Maintenance codes are
assigned to indicate the levels of maintenanceauthorized to USE and REPAIR support items.The maintenance codes are entered in the thirdand fourth positions of the Uniform SMR Codeformat as follows:
(a) The maintenance code entered in thethird position will indicate the lowest maintenancelevel authorized to remove, replace, and use thesupport item. The maintenance code entered in thethird position will indicate one of the followinglevels of maintenance:Code Application/Explanation
O - Support item is removed, replaced, used atthe organizational level.
F - Support item is removed, replaced, used atthe direct support level.
(b) The maintenance code entered in thefourth position indicates whether the item is to berepaired and ident if ies the lowest maintenancelevel with the capabil i ty to perform completerepair (i.e., all authorized maintenance functions).This position will contain one of the followingmaintenance codes:Code Application/ExplanationF - The lowest maintenance level capable of
complete repair of the support item isthe direct support level.
Z - No repair is authorized.(3) Recoverability code. Recoverability codes
are assigned to support i tems to indicate thedisposi t ion act ion on unserviceable i tems. Therecoverability code is entered in the fifth positionof the Uniform SMR Code format as follows:Recoverability

Z - Nonreparable i tem. When unserviceable ,condemn and dispose at the level insi-cated in position 3.
F - Reparable item. When uneconomically re-parable , condemn and dispose at thedirect support level.
c. National Stock Number. Indicates the Na-tional stock number assigned to the item and willbe used for requisitioning purposes.
d. Part Number. Indicates the primary numberused by the manufacturer (individual, company,

TM 11-5841-268-23Pfirm, corporation, or Government activity), whichcontrols the design and characteristics of the itemby means of i ts engineering drawings, specif i -cat ions, s tandards, and inspect ion requirementsto identify an item or range of items.
NOTEWhen a s t ock numbered i t em i s r eq -uisitioned, the repair part received mayhave a different par t number than thepart being replaced.
e . F e d e r a l S u p p l y C o d e f o r M a n u f a c t u r e r(FSCM). The FSCM is a 5-digit numeric code listedi n S B 7 0 8 - 4 2 w h i c h i s u s e d t o i d e n t i f y t h emanufacturer, distributor, or Government agency,etc.
f. Description. Indicates the Federal item nameand, if required, a minimum description to identifythe item.
g. Unit of Measure (U/M). Indicates the standardof the basic quantity of the listed item as used inperforming the actual maintenance function. Thismeasure is expressed by a two-character alphabet-ical abbreviation (e.g., ea, in, pr, etc). When the unitof measure differs from the unit of issue, the lowestunit of issue that will satisfy the required units ofmeasure will be requisitioned.
h. Quantity Incorporated in Unit. Indicates thequantity of the item used in the breakout shown onthe i l lustrat ion f igure, which is prepared for afunct ional group, subfunct ional group, “or anassembiy.
4. Special information

5. How to Locate Repair Parts
a. When National stock number or part numberis unknown.
(1) First. Using the table of contents, deter-mine the functional group within which the itembelongs. This is necessary since illustrations areprepared for functional groups and listings aredivided into the same groups.
(2) Second. Find the illustration covering thefunctional group to which the item belongs.
(3) Third. Identify the item on the illustrationand note the illustration figure and item number ofthe item.
(4) Fourth. Using the Repair Parts Listing,f ind the f igure and i tem number noted on thei l lustrat ion.
h. When National stock number or part numberis known.
(1) First. Using the Index of National StockNumbers and Par t Numbers , f ind the per t inentNational stock number or part number. This indexis in NIIN sequence followed by a list of partnumbers in alphameric sequence, cross-referencedto the illustration figure number and item number.
(2) Second. After finding the figure and itemnumber, locate the figure and item number in therepair parts list.
