    Riskmanagementinvolvesassessingconsequencesbeforecontrolsandputinplaceandthelikelihoodoftheeventoccurring.Forinstance,

    theriskassociatedwithbeingkilledonthejobasaresultofavolcaniceruptionarealmostnilinAustraliaastherearenoactivevolcanoes.Ifyouwerecaughtinthissituation,yoursurvivalwouldbehighlyunlikely.So,theconsequenceisextremelyseriousbutthelikelihoodisVERYlow.Overall,theriskisassessedasLOW.

    Ontheotherhand,theriskthatyouwillgetwetcrossingastreambysteppingonslipperymosscoveredrocksismuchhigher.Theconsequenceswillprobablybejustwetshoesorfeetbutthelikelihoodismuchhigher.TheriskisstillratedasLOWasitisprobablywarm
