3. Repair Report
3.1. Reason for Repair
Received x2 units of PVG32 control valves from 20ton Hose Handling Crane (Port & Stbd.) Received x1 unit of PVG32 control valve & emergency valve from 10ton Prov. Crane (Port) Received x1 unit of PVG32 control valve & emergency valve from 2ton Prov. Crane (Stbd.) Need to carryout top urgent standard overhaul on all 4 units of PVG32 Control Valves
3.2. Inspection Findings
Completely dismantled all 4 units, cleaned to proper & carryout through inspection and found thefollowing defects:
• All seal / O ring-kit found to be worn out and need to be replaced.• All front and back covers of the block were worn out due to its material: Aluminium, and need to be
replaced.• Manual levers were found without tension and were found wobbly. Thus, need to be replaced.• All fittings were corroded and need to be replaced.• Only 2ton Prov. Crane’s Emergency valve unit (x1) was found damaged and need to be replaced
with new set. The spring attached to it was broken and need to be replaced as well.
3.3. Scope Of Repair
• All spools and valves were well polished and lapp as per requirement and assembled with new setof PVG32 PVAS Assembly kit, which was purchased for all 4 units (Consists of complete seal / O-ring kit for the PVG32 valves & bolts as well)
• All front and back covers replaced with new set accordingly on all 4 units.• New set of PVG32 PVM Mechanical Actuation (Manual Levers) was replaced on all 4 units.• For x1 2ton Prov crane’s emergency valves, new ones were purchased and replaced accordingly
as well as new spring fabricated and replaced as well.• Upon complete re-assembly of the valves with new parts, they were all pressure tested and
results, found to be in satisfactory condition.
