Romans 2:12-14

“He will punish sin wherever it is found. He will punish the heathen when they sin, even though they never had God’s written laws, for down in their hearts they know right from wrong. God’s laws are written within them; their own consciousness accuses them, or sometimes excuses them. ”

The error of the Hebrews, for which this book was written, is

that they were living and believing as though the Old

Covenant were still in effect. The author strongly argues that is has

been superseded by Jesus and that there is nothing they can go

back too

6 Therefore since it still remains for some to enter that rest, and since those who formerly had the good news proclaimed to them did not go in because of their disobedience, 7 God again set a certain day, calling it “Today.” This he did when a long time later he spoke through David, as in the passage already quoted:

“Today, if you hear his voice,

do not harden your hearts.”

8 For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day. 9 There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God; 10 for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their works, just as God did from his. 11 Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience

“Necessary Endings” Henry Cloud

“Whether we like it or not, endings are a part of life. They are woven into the fabric of life itself, both when it goes well and also when it doesn't. On the good side of life, for us to ever get to a new level, a new tomorrow, or the next step, something has to end. Life has seasons, stages, and phases

“Necessary Endings” Henry Cloud

“For there to be anything new, old things always have to end, and we have to let go of them… Without the ability to end things, people stay stuck, never becoming who they are meant to be, never accomplishing all that their talents and abilities should afford them…The Lesson: The good cannot begin until the bad begins.” Pg. 6-8

Dr. Tom Hufty

"Some things you learn from lectures, some things you learn from research, but some things you can only learn from experience. You've just experienced grace. One hundred years from now, if you know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, your name will be written down in a book, and you will have had nothing to do with writing it there. That will be the ultimate grace experience."– (Denise Banderman, Hannibal, Missouri)
