1. General Topic Business plans and techno-economic analysis for sustainable
energy projects Date 20 and 21 May 2015 Location Lefkosia, Cyprus Number of participants 20 (12+8) 2. Objective Building capacity within the local authorities’ energy team’s members on creating new partnerships or business models for efficient management and implementation of energy action projects is not a one-time exercise. 3. Description and overall evaluation The workshop was divided in four sessions, an introduction to the business plans, a step by step development of business plans, answers on how to carry out a techno-economic analysis and how to introduce environmental and social aspects into an evaluation of a project. The participants after in detail presentations by the trainers were divided in groups and examined a particular case study. After the groups examined their case, they presented their results on white board and discussion was followed with input from all the groups.
For the evaluation of the workshop, the participants filled in evaluation sheets and the results were analyzed and presented by the following table.

4. Outcomes and conclusions The most important outcome of the workshop was that municipal employees that were assigned by their supervisors to implement and monitor their sustainable energy actions were improved their skills on analysis and evaluation of different energy projects. Also were inspired with ideas for new projects but also for new cooperation among the other municipalities on common energy projects (sustainable transport, exploitation of green wastes etc.) 5.
