Fundamental principles

primary: warehouse- shipment, delivery; transport needs of otherssecondary: further stages of transport, e.g.: from Hub to end recipient

Sources of Dispatching Orders:√

Central Office and Hubs, may be visible and performed by more than one dispatch manager, managing means of transport individually...

Dispatching Orders may be entered at various locations, e.g.:√

may be distributed, grouped and assigned to routes, so as to minimize dispatching costs, while observing the transport and reception conditions ( e.g. chilled, GPS, ADR, date of collection etc).

Loads recorded in Dispatching Orders√

Considering Hubs on optimisation of transports. Dispatch managers at Hubs organize dispatching referring to their reloading station by themselves.

Business Processes and Events (1)

Managing SLAs (Service Level Agreements) with clients

Managing SLAs with subcontractors (means of transport owners)

Sophisticated process integration with WMS software

Planning transport routes validation of transport conditions (continuous and on request) (e.g. the total weight of assigned loads, delivery at a specified date/time,compatibility with requirements for loading, transport and unloading)

Route planning - assignment of transport type, drivers, vehicles, sending a “transport order” to (subcontractors),

Route confirming to paperwork (load lists, manifests etc)

Page 8: Titel

Quaar TMS-Transport Management System

Business Processes and Events (2)

Modifications of planned and approved routes as reactions to unexpected transport events (no opportunity to collect goods from warehouse, prolongation of transport time, accident – the route can not be continued etc.)

Proof of delivery and closure of executed transport routes

Preparation of data for encumbering invoices for sold transport services

Cost calculation of sold transport services, i.e.: routes clearing

Elements of fleet management

Elements of drivers management

Basic Terms and Objects

is the order to perform transport of goods (calculated into load units), their delivery at a specified date and time, at a specified place, to a specified recipient, not necessarily transported by the same means of transport

Dispatching order√

is the set of Dispatching Orders, typically having the same common feature, like: the same ordering customer, the same, common price, …

Compound dispatching order√

is an item on the waybill and is a transport order, using an assigned means of transport, for a specified quantity of load units loaded (e.g.: pallets ), transported at the same time, locations, dates and times of their loading and unloading.

Transport√

is one way of one means of transport, having 1 start, 0..n intermediate stations and 1 end, at each station it is possible to load and unload the load units, the route executes 1..n transports assigned to it, as entire or partial dispatching order.

Possible integration with other systems

Recipient system (Proof of Delivery) in order to confirm load exit, goods receiving, reception receipt,...

GIS systems cooperating with digital maps concerning route display, (city plans, addresses) and their optimisation

Load tracking system

Information systems on other loads to be carried, including return loads

Systems of other dispatching companies, for single use of alien means of transport or finding a supplement load

Advantages of TMS solution

strait integration with other Qguar products, particularly with Warehouse Management System, supporting two different schemas: WMS or TMS precedence, homogeneous GUI, uniform architecture and technology,

► control of transport demands and limitations when planning routes

► coordination of route planning between Hubs

► simplicity of administration

central, remotely accessed database system, with:√

precise clearing of transport services, both: purchased and sold √
