Tips to prefect your LinkedIn profile picture
Dos
Do – Use a head and shoulders shot. The image will end up being quite small online so you want to make sure that people can see that the image is a picture of you.
Do – Keep the focus on you. Use a plain background so there are no distractions in the image.
Do – Show off the real, friendly and professional you. Dress as though you’re going for an interview and smile.
Don’ts
Don’t – use photos that belong on Facebook. This includes photos with your bestie, pet, child. No selfies or duck faces!
Don’t – Use photoshop. Your meetings or jobs interviews might be a bit awkward if you look completely different than you do in your profile picture.
Taking the time to get your LinkedIn profile photo right is worth it – you never know who could be looking at it!
