Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
(NIV, Proverbs 19:21)

Our knowledge is theory. We turn to theory in our search for truth, and the only truth is with God. Through science we learn, and through scripture we learn. This work describes the path of mankind as I have come to understand it, which is to say merely theory.

From a space-less and time-less state, the universe emerges with the Big Bang. Over billions of years, galaxies are formed, including our own. The conditions for life arise in our Solar System, and the evolution of Earthly life leads to the human body, all according to God’s purpose.

The seven-thousand-year plan of renewal commences with the creation of Adam and culminates in our millennial kingdom with Christ. During the seven thousand years, God presents truth to man, according to His purpose.

During the final seven years before the millennial kingdom, we experience a great tribulation.

“Timelines. Book 1 of the Path of Man series” includes:
> A corrected chronology of the seven-thousand years
> A corrected chronology of the Hebrew kings
> An explanation of Daniel's four kingdoms and seventy ‘sevens’
> A timeline for the final seven years

As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. "Tell us," they said, "when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?"
(NIV, Matthew 24:3)

A Note from the Author

Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. (Proverbs 19:21)

Our knowledge is theory. We turn to theory in our search for truth, and the only truth is with

God. Through science we learn, and through scripture we learn. This work describes the path of

mankind as I have come to understand it, which is to say merely theory.

From a space-less and time-less state, the universe emerges with the Big Bang. Over billions of

years, galaxies are formed, including our own. The conditions for life arise in our Solar System,

and the evolution of Earthly life leads to the human body, all according to God’s purpose.

The seven-thousand-year plan of renewal commences with the creation of Adam and

culminates in our millennial kingdom with Christ. During the seven thousand years, God

presents truth to man, according to His purpose.

During the final seven years before the millennial kingdom, we experience a great tribulation.

Path of Man Timelines In the Beginning

Book 1 Page 4

Pre-Creation

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was

with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made

that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of men. The light shines in the

darkness, but the darkness has not understood it. (John 1:1)

o Life before Space. Life before Time

God exists with His Word in a state without space and without time. There is no heaven, and

there is no earth. In this state, all life, including the life of mankind, is contained within Him.

The laws of physics do not apply because they describe our physical universe, which has not yet

been created.

He chose us in him before the creation of the world. (Ephesians 1:4)

This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time. (2 Timothy 1:9)

Page 7: Timelines. Book 1 of the Path of Man series

Book 1 Page 5

The Big Bang

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Now the earth was formless and

empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the

waters. (Genesis 1:1)

o Space and Time

The Big Bang marks the creation of the universe. It’s the beginning of space and the beginning

of time, 13.8 billion years ago. “The heavens and the earth” denotes the universe in its entirety

(though for 9 billion years, planet earth is not yet formed). The laws of physics are established.

o The First Second of the Universe

o From the Big Bang to Life on Earth

Over time, gravitational attraction between matter leads to the formation of hundreds of

billions of galaxies. Each galaxy contains billions of stars and their accompanying planets.

Our galaxy begins to develop about 5 billion years after the Big Bang. About 4.2 billion years

later, our sun forms, along with its planets. After 1 billion years, the first Earthly life emerges.

Evolution of Life

o Emergence of Organisms

o Human Taxonomy

o Human Migration from Africa

Around 100,000 BC, humans begin to spread out of Africa and into Eurasia. Around 50,000 BC,

they begin to settle in Australia, and around 14,000 BC, they cross the Bering Land Bridge into

the Americas.

In 3,968 BC, God’s work to enlighten man and renew the earth begins.

Book 1 Page 8

The Seven Days

o Work and Rest

By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he

rested from all his work. (Genesis 2:2)

The seven days of Genesis set the foundation for the seven-thousand-year plan of renewal.

o One Day to God. One Thousand Years to Man

A thousand years in your sight are like a day. (Psalm 90:4)

Do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a

thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand

slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to

repentance. (2 Peter 3:8)

The first day of the seven-day plan of renewal begins with the creation of Adam in 3968 BC.

Each day lasts a thousand years in the sight of man, so the seventh day begins in 2033 AD.

Book 1 Page 9

o Resurrection of Christ

Jesus began to explain to his disciples that … he must be killed and on the third day be raised to

life. (Matthew 16:21)

The third day is two days after the first day.

The scriptures do not record the entire life of Jesus. The specific numbers related to recorded

events are relevant to the course of mankind. In a few cases, Jesus spends a certain number of

days in patient waiting; he is representing that many thousands of years for man. For example:

following the crucifixion, two days pass until his resurrection; this is two actual days at the time,

and it is a representation of the two thousand years mankind waits for its resurrection.

o Resurrection of Mankind

After two days he will revive us; on the third day he will restore us, that we may live in his

presence. (Hosea 6:2)

After Day 5 and Day 6, the faithful are resurrected to live with Christ for the duration of Day 7.

I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony for Jesus and

because of the word of God. … They came to life and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

(Revelation 20:4)

o Genealogy

The synchronism refers to the conception of the son in relation to the birth of his father. For

example: Adam lives for 130 years, then he begets (conceives) Seth, who is born 0.7 years later.

This assumes that either the 130 is not a rounded figure or all of the rounding balances out.

o Noah

The flood occurs when Noah is 600 years old (Genesis 7:6), in the 600th year of his life (Genesis

7:11). The first year of Noah’s life begins the day he is born, so he is considered one “year old”

when he is born. Therefore, the flood occurs at least 599 years but no more than 600 years

after the birth of Noah; the best guess is 599.5 years, with a maximum error of 0.5 years.

o Abraham

Terah dies in Haran after living for 205 years (Genesis 11:32). Abraham leaves Haran and goes

to Egyptian-ruled Canaan after Terah dies (Acts 7:4), when Abraham is 75 years old, which is the

75th year of his life (Genesis 12:4). Therefore, Abraham is born in the 131st year of Terah’s life.

o Moses

In 1444 BC, exactly 430 years after Abraham enters Canaan, Moses leads the Jews out of Egypt

(Exodus 12:40) and receives the Commandments (Galatians 3:17).

The Kingdom of Judah

o The First Temple

Solomon begins to reign in the United Monarchy in late 969 BC. He begins building the First

Temple in 965 BC, which is in the fourth year of his reign and the 480th year after the Exodus

(1 Kings 6:1). The Temple is completed 7.5 years later (1 Kings 6:37).

o The United Monarchy Splits

Following the death of Solomon in 930 BC, the United Monarchy splits.

Rehoboam, son of Solomon, rules the Kingdom of Judah in Jerusalem.

Page 17: Timelines. Book 1 of the Path of Man series

Path of Man Timelines The Hebrew Kings

Book 1 Page 15

The Kingdom of Israel

Jeroboam rules the Kingdom of Israel in Samaria.

o Total Years of Rule

A number of kings begin to rule during their fathers’ reigns. The first year of the king’s rule is

considered year 1. For example: Jeroboam II’s first year is in 792 BC, and his last year is in

752 BC, a total rule of 41 years. His reign as king begins in 781 BC, after the death of his father.

o Synchronisms

The first year of a king’s reign is given in relation to a corresponding king’s total ruling period.

For example: Zechariah begins his reign in 752 BC, the 38th year of Azariah’s rule, not his reign.

The Four Kingdoms

Page 19: Timelines. Book 1 of the Path of Man series

Book 1 Page 17

Babylon, the First Kingdom

o Campaign Against Jerusalem

In 605 BC, in the third year of Jehoiakim king of Judah (Daniel 1:1) and the first year of

Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar besieges Jerusalem. The prophet Daniel,

among others, is taken to serve in the Babylonian king’s palace.

While in Babylon, Daniel (guided by the angel Gabriel) interprets a number of dreams

concerning future kingdoms, including:

Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream of the Statue

Daniel’s Dream of the Four Beasts

Daniel’s Vision of the Ram and the Goat

A beast represents a world empire, and a horn represents the ruler of a state.

In 589 BC, in the ninth year of Zedekiah king of Judah (2 Kings 25:1), the Babylonians return and

besiege Jerusalem.

In 587 BC, in the eleventh year of Zedekiah (2 Kings 25:2) and the nineteenth year of

Nebuchadnezzar (2 Kings 25:8), Jerusalem is conquered and the First Temple is destroyed.

o Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream of the Statue

“You are that head of gold.” (Daniel 2:38)

Daniel tells Nebuchadnezzar that his Babylon is the first kingdom.

o Daniel’s Dream of the Four Beasts

“The first was like a lion.” (Daniel 7:4)

Babylon is the first kingdom, which reigns in the Promised Land from 587 BC to 539 BC.

Book 1 Page 18

Medo-Persia, the Second Kingdom

o Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream of the Statue

“After you, another kingdom will rise, inferior to yours.” (Daniel 2:39)

In 539 BC, the Medo-Persian king Cyrus the Great defeats Babylon.

o Daniel’s Dream of the Four Beasts

“There before me was a second beast, which looked like a bear.” (Daniel 7:5)

o Daniel’s Vision of the Ram and the Goat

“The two-horned ram that you saw represents the kings of Media and Persia.” (Daniel 8:20)

Medo-Persia is the second kingdom, which reigns in the Promised Land from 539 BC to 332 BC.

Page 21: Timelines. Book 1 of the Path of Man series

Book 1 Page 19

Greece, the Third Kingdom

o Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream of the Statue

“Next, a third kingdom, one of bronze, will rule over the whole earth.” (Daniel 2:39)

In 332 BC, the Greek king Alexander the Great conquers Medo-Persia.

o Daniel’s Dream of the Four Beasts

“There before me was another beast, one that looked like a leopard. … This beast had four

heads.” (Daniel 7:6)

o Daniel’s Vision of the Ram and the Goat

“The shaggy goat is the king of Greece, and the large horn between his eyes is the first king. The

four horns that replaced the one that was broken off represent four kingdoms that will emerge

from his nation but will not have the same power.” (Daniel 8:21)

After the sudden death of Alexander the Great, the Greek Empire splits into four kingdoms:

the Seleucid Empire (Seleucid dynasty)

the Kingdom of Macedon (Antigonid dynasty)

the Kingdom of Pergamon (Attalid dynasty)

the Ptolemaic Kingdom (Ptolemaic dynasty)

Greece is the third kingdom, which reigns in the Promised Land from 332 BC to 63 BC.

Page 22: Timelines. Book 1 of the Path of Man series

Book 1 Page 20

Rome, the Fourth Kingdom

o Nebuchadnezzar’s Dream of the Statue

“Finally, there will be a fourth kingdom, strong as iron. … This will be a divided kingdom. … The

people will be a mixture and will not remain united.” (Daniel 2:40)

Around 330 AD, the Roman Empire splits into two legs: East and West. Later on, each of the

legs splits into five toes; a total of ten states emerge from the Roman Empire.

o Daniel’s Dream of the Four Beasts

“There before me was a fourth beast. … It had large iron teeth. … It had ten horns.” (Daniel 7:7)

“The fourth beast is a fourth kingdom that will … devour the whole earth.” (Daniel 7:23)

o Daniel’s Vision of the Ram and the Goat

Another horn, which started small … grew in power to the south and to the east and toward the

Beautiful Land. … It set itself up to be as great as the Prince of the host; it took away the daily

sacrifice from him. (Daniel 8:9)

Rome emerges to conquer the Kingdom of Macedon. It grows to the south and to the east and

conquers the Promised Land. Rome becomes the fourth beast and the seed of the final world

empire that stands against Christ.

Rome is the fourth kingdom, which reigns in the Promised Land from 63 BC to 637 AD.

Book 1 Page 22

The Seven Heads

o Unification

He had ten horns and seven heads, with ten crowns on his horns. … The beast I saw resembled a

leopard, but had feet like those of a bear and a mouth like that of a lion. (Revelation 13:1)

The beast is a unification of all former kingdoms, including Greece (the leopard), Medo-Persia

(the bear), and Babylon (the lion). It is a true world-wide empire.

o Seven Kingdoms

“[The seven heads are] seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet come; but

when he does come, he must remain for a little while. The beast who once was, and now is

not, is an eighth king.” (Revelation 17:10)

From the time the Jews establish their home in the Promised Land to the time of the end, they

are oppressed by seven world empires, all of which compose the Union of the Beast.

In 637 AD, the Rashidun Caliphate expels the Eastern Roman Empire from Jerusalem.

Book 1 Page 23

o New Rome

One of the heads of the beast seemed to have a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been

healed. (Revelation 13:3)

The Roman Empire is reorganized into a number of nations and expelled from the Promised

Land, so it appears to suffer a fatal blow. Its authority is restored as New Rome in 2026 AD.

o Union of the Beast

The beast was given a mouth to … exercise his authority for 42 months. (Revelation 13:5)

In 2030 AD, the authority of all of New Rome is transferred to the false prophet. The Union of

the Beast reigns in the Promised Land until the return of Christ.

The Ten Horns

o The Fourth Beast of Daniel’s Dream

“The ten horns are ten kings who will come from this kingdom. After them another king will …

speak against the Most High and oppress his saints … for a year, two years, and half a year.”

(Daniel 7:24)

"His power will be taken away and completely destroyed forever. Then the sovereignty, power

and greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven will be handed over to the saints, the

people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom.” (Daniel 7:26)

o The Seventh Head of John’s Revelation

“The ten horns you saw are ten kings who … have one purpose and will give their power and

authority to the beast.” (Revelation 17:12)

“They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them.” (Revelation 17:13)

o The Ten States

Ten states come out of the Roman Empire. They remain the components for New Rome.

In 2030 AD, the rulers of these ten states surrender their authority to the Union of the Beast.

Mystery Babylon

“This title was written on her forehead: MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT. THE MOTHER OF PROSTITUTES AND

OF THE ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH. … I will explain to you the mystery of the woman and of the

beast she rides, which has the seven heads and ten horns.” (Revelation 17:5)

o The City of Seven Hills

“The seven heads are seven hills on which the woman sits.” (Revelation 17:9)

Rome is “the city of seven hills.”

o The Ruling City

“The woman you saw is the great city that rules over the kings of the earth.” (Revelation 17:18)

At the time of John’s Revelation, Rome rules the Roman Empire.

During the end times, Rome rules the New Roman Empire and the Union of the Beast.

o The Betrayal

“The beast and the ten horns will hate the prostitute. They will bring her to ruin … and burn her

with fire. For God has put it into their hearts to accomplish his purpose.” (Revelation 17:16)

In 2033 AD, the Union of the Beast betrays Rome and sets the city on fire.

The Seventy ‘Sevens’

Page 29: Timelines. Book 1 of the Path of Man series

Path of Man Timelines The Seventy ‘Sevens’

Book 1 Page 27

Sixty-Nine ‘Sevens’

o Gabriel Teaches Daniel

“Seventy ‘sevens’ are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put

an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision

and prophecy and to anoint the most holy.” (Daniel 9:24)

A ‘seven’ is seven years. A prophetic year is 360 days. One ‘seven’ is 2,520 days.

o The First Sixty-Nine ‘Sevens’

“Know and understand this: From the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem

until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It

will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble. After the sixty-two ‘sevens,’ the

Anointed One will be cut off and will have nothing.” (Daniel 9:25)

On March 5, 444 BC, the Medo-Persian king Artaxerxes issues the decree to rebuild Jerusalem.

(Nehemiah 2:1-20)

Seven ‘sevens’ is 17,640 days.

Sixty-two ‘sevens’ is 156,240 days.

The first sixty-nine ‘sevens’ are consecutive. Then, the Messiah is cut off, and the remaining

‘seven’ is reserved for the end times.

Page 30: Timelines. Book 1 of the Path of Man series

Path of Man Timelines The Seventy ‘Sevens’

Book 1 Page 28

The Final ‘Seven’

o Until the End

The people of the ruler who will come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. The end will come

like a flood: War will continue until the end, and desolations have been decreed. He will confirm

a covenant with many for one ‘seven.’ In the middle of the ‘seven’ he will put an end to sacrifice

and offering. And on a wing of the temple, he will set up an abomination that causes desolation,

until the end that is decreed is poured out on him. (Daniel 9:26)

One ‘seven’ is 2,520 days.

The middle of the ‘seven’ is 1,260 days from the start.

o Equivalencies

A prophetic month is 30 days.

A prophetic year is 12 months, or 360 days.

A ‘seven’ is seven years, or 84 months, or 2,520 days.

Half of a ‘seven’ is equivalent to:

42 months

1,260 days

“a year, two years, and half a year”

These phrases are used throughout biblical prophecy of the end times.

Signs of the End

o Jesus Teaches His Disciples

“When you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’ spoken of

through the prophet Daniel … then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of

the world. … If anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. …

Immediately after the distress of those days ‘the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not

give its light.’ … They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky.” (Matthew 24:15)

“As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days

before the flood, people … knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and

took them away.” (Matthew 24:37)

o The Falling Away

There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money,

boastful, proud … lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. (2 Timothy 3:1)

For two-thousand years following the crucifixion of Jesus, mankind falls further and further

from God. Many people and nations compete for the title of most righteous, a title that belongs

to Him. Seeking pride instead of humbleness, many forsake the set times and the Law.

o The Law

“’Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This

is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as

yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” (Matthew 22:37)

Page 33: Timelines. Book 1 of the Path of Man series

Book 1 Page 31

o Yom Kippur

The Day of Atonement is the holiest day of the year. God seals each person’s fate in the Book of Life.

On October 3, 2033, Yom Kippur brings the return of Christ at Mount Zion. Mankind faces its final

opportunity for repentance, and God’s seven bowls of wrath are prepared.

o Sukkot

The Feast of Tabernacles commemorates the forty years of wandering which followed the Exodus.

Following the years of hardship, the Jews were rewarded with the Promised Land.

On October 8, 2033, Sukkot marks the harvest of the earth, after which the seven bowls of wrath are

poured out onto the earth. Following the final days of the tribulation, the faithful are rewarded.

o Hanukkah

The Feast of Dedication celebrates the liberation and rededication of the Second Temple.

On December 17, 2033, Hanukkah ushers in the millennial kingdom. The Third Temple is liberated from

the beast and rededicated for the thousand-year reign of Christ.

The Fulfillment

o Daniel’s Old Testament Vision

The man clothed in linen, who was above the waters of the river, lifted his right hand and his left

hand toward heaven, and I heard him swear by him who lives forever, saying, “It will be for a

year, two years, and half a year. When the power of the holy people has been finally broken, all

these things will be completed. … From the time that the daily sacrifice is abolished and the

abomination that causes desolation is set up, there will be 1,290 days. Blessed is the one who

waits for and reaches the end of the 1,335 days.” (Daniel 12:7)

o John’s New Testament Revelation

After the sounding of the first six trumpets, John mirrors the words of Daniel.

The angel I had seen standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven. And

he swore by him who lives forever. … “There will be no more delay. But in the days when the

seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he

announced to his servants and prophets.” (Revelation 10:5)

o The Seven Seals

I saw in the right hand of him who sat on the throne a scroll with writing on both sides and

sealed with seven seals. (Revelation 5:1)

Before the final seven years begin, Christ opens the first four of the seven seals. The four

horsemen - Conquest, War, Famine, and Death - are readied.

Part I. In the Beginning

I have heard many of us dismiss very valid scientific theories or entire religions based on

our own self-assured knowledge. We should always keep in mind that we know nothing. Don’t

hesitate to question, but be slow to dismiss. Seek the answer, using reason and faith.

We exist in a nature limited by space and time. The nature of the being which placed

these limits on our own universe is inconceivable for our physical brains, which are limited to

our nature. Using our five senses, we observe our own physical universe and discover patterns.

A science is a study of perceived links in these patterns, links we theorize using our God-given

ability to reason. Science has allowed us to estimate the age of the universe and the age of

Earthly species; Homo sapiens emerged around half a million years ago. As humans began

developing the first civilizations around 6,000 years ago in Mesopotamia, God created Adam.

Adam was the first prophet, the first man enlightened by the grace of God and refined

by His wrath. The creation of Adam was the birth of modern mankind, truth-seeking but sinful.

I do not know if there were other enlightened species before us, on this planet or any other.

Part II. Renewing the Earth

James Ussher (1581 - 1656), an Anglican archbishop, dated the creation of Adam at

4004 BC, allowing for 4,000 years between that event and the birth of Jesus in 4 BC. I have

dated the birth of Adam at 3968 BC, allowing for 4,000 years between that event and the

crucifixion of Jesus in 33 AD. Ussher’s chronology suggests the 6,000 years of God’s work would

have ended in 1997 AD. The discrepancy is due to only two errors in Ussher’s chronology: (i) he

dated the completion of Solomon’s Temple at 1004 BC, and (ii) he did not consider the 38

weeks, or 0.7 years, from the date of a child’s conception to the date of birth.

It is now generally accepted that Solomon’s Temple was completed around 958 BC.

Adjusting for this correction, Ussher’s date for the birth of Adam is 3958 BC. This is still off by 10

years due to the confusion surrounding the scriptures’ use of the word beget. The Random

House dictionary defines beget: (especially of a male parent) to procreate or generate

(offspring). The scriptures reference the conception, not the birth, of the child. Adjusting for

this 0.7-year correction in 16 instances, Ussher’s date for the birth of Adam is 3969 BC.

Page 44: Timelines. Book 1 of the Path of Man series

Appendix Timelines

Part III. The Hebrew Kings

Edwin R. Thiele (1895 - 1986) constructed a chronology of the Hebrew Kings in his book

The Mysterious Numbers of the Hebrew Kings. His work is the foundation for nearly all work on

this topic, and his date for the break-up of the United Monarchy in 931/0 BC is widely accepted.

However, his chronology conflicts with a few synchronisms in the scriptures: (i) Hezekiah’s reign

in Judah began in the 3rd year of Hoshea king of Israel, and (ii) Hoshea’s reign in Israel began in

the 20th year of Jotham king of Judah and the 12th year of Ahaz king of Judah.

Thiele attributes the discrepancies to scriptural errors and suggests that the Hebrew

record-keepers confused a few of the numbers. It is possible that our modern bibles have

acquired errors, since the text has been translated. Still, Path of Man is founded on the

presumption of initial scriptural inerrancy. The scriptures were recorded by saints with the

guidance of God, and every number has significance. Therefore, I believed it was necessary to

construct a chronology of the Hebrew Kings in harmony with all synchronisms in the scriptures.

Part IV. The Four Kingdoms

The four world kingdoms in Daniel 2, described as parts of a statue, are the same four

kingdoms in Daniel 7, described as animal-like beasts. Daniel 8 identifies two: Medo-Persia and

Greece. Different theories have been proposed to identify all four kingdoms. The theory

supported in Path of Man (Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, and Rome) is generally accepted; it’s

been supported by a number of well-known theologians: Barnabas (c. 150), Hippolytus (c. 230),

Saint Jerome (c. 420), Saint Augustine (c. 430), Martin Luther (1522), John Davenport (1653),

Isaac Newton (1727), and Jonathan Edwards (1739), to name a few.

Jesus, in Matthew 24:15, told us to look for the abomination of desolation spoken of

through Daniel as a sign of the end times. Therefore, we can be sure that the desolation

described in Daniel 8:13, Daniel 9:27, and Daniel 12:11 is the same desolation described in

Revelation 13:14. Daniel prophesied that the fourth kingdom, the Roman Empire, will establish

the abomination of desolation and lead mankind’s final stand against Christ, after which God

will establish his eternal kingdom on earth. Therefore, the end-time kingdom, as described in

John’s Revelation, will probably be lead by Rome, until Mystery Babylon itself is betrayed by the

beast (Revelation 17:16) and destroyed by God’s wrath (Revelation 18:1).

Page 45: Timelines. Book 1 of the Path of Man series

Appendix Timelines

Part V. The Beast

The seven heads of the Revelation beast are not directly identified. However, John’s

description of the beast as part-leopard, part-bear, and part-lion points us to Daniel 7, so it

seems reasonable that the four kingdoms constitute four of the seven heads. Since five heads

were fallen, two heads must have come before the four kingdoms (the Roman Empire was the

ruling kingdom at the time, so it was not one of the fallen). The fourth kingdom is the one that

will make the final stand against Christ, so the healed head is probably a revived Roman Empire,

powered by its ten distinct nations (the ten horns) and led by Rome, “the city of seven hills.”

Part VI. The Seventy ‘Sevens’

Many people use a day-year theory to suggest that 1,260 prophetic days represent

1,260 years; I don’t agree. The abomination of desolation occurs 1,260 days into the Revelation

timeline, followed by 1,260 days for the reign of the beast. According to Daniel, the desolation

occurs in the middle of the final ‘seven,’ so we know the 2,520 days constitute the entire final

‘seven.’ If the final ‘seven’ represents 2,520 years, the seventy ‘sevens’ represent 176,400

years; this doesn’t fit with the 7,000-year theory.

The scriptures offer us three phrases all referring to the same duration of time: 1,260

days, 42 months, and “a year, two years, and half a year.” All three of these phrases represent a

period of 3½ years that constitute half of the final ‘seven,’ the final 2,520 days before the return

of Christ. Each one of the seventy ‘sevens’ is a period consisting of 2,520 actual days.

Part VII. The End Times

All dates throughout this work were guesses and could be off by any number of years.

We have been told that the day and hour is unknown. His return will come like a thief in the

night, and His wrath will come like a flood. However, we should never cease in our search for

truth, nor should we abandon our struggle for righteousness, even as we today slip, stumble,

and fall. Remember: not one of us reading this is able to open the seven seals. We should strive,

therefore, in every circumstance, to humble ourselves. The path to virtue is well-established; it

has been so from the beginning of time.
