COUNCIL ACCEPTS REPORT AND APPROVES, IN PRINCIPLE, DOWNTOWN CENTRE PROJECT Council approves the pursuit of a Downtown Centre as a key catalyst towards downtown regeneration and economic development—subject to four major ”deal breakers”: 1) Acceptable business plan to confirm the financial implications for the City of Moncton 2) 1/3 funding of the project from the Provincial Government 3) 1/3 funding of the project from the Federal Government 4) Appropriate major tenant(s) agreement(s) CITY OF MONCTON BEGINS WORK ON ADDRESSING “DEAL BREAKERS” ISSUES Exploratory discussions with Province and Federal governments on funding scenarios begin.
