IMPORTANT DATES1960 A U.S. spy plane "U2" is killed on May 1st 1960 on Soviet soil taking with it any hope that the tensions of the Cold War would soon calm down.

The Great Chilean Earthquake occurs, leaving at least 970 dead and with 9.5 degrees on the Richter scale is recorded by the strongest human by seismographs.

The Beatles fame, composed by John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Pete Best, which was later replaced by Ringo Starr.

1961Is assassinated Patrice Lumumba, prime minister and leader of the independence of the Congo.
