HOW MANY RESOURCES DOES YOUR COMPANY USE ON TIME REGISTRATION?

Manual timeregistration is indeed a major cost intense task. To illustrate how much savings you can achieve we have pre-pared an example to illustrate costs for a fictive production site with 200 employees. We point out the four major areas as typical high cost factors for manual time registration sys-tems. All figures are based on data collected from 237 pro-duction sites over a period of 11 years. We assume that Shop Floor Control functionalities are set up.

The time estimations are minimum consumption schedules for the described tasks meaning that, most likely, the actual consumption will be 10-20 % higher than stated in our cal-culation. Our calculations are based on an hourly wage per employee of EUR 18.00, resulting in an annual wage of EUR 37,000 and 1,850 paid working hours. Our example is indica-tive and may vary from one company to another. The objective is to provide a general overview of work hours used in the pro-cess of manual handling of time registration.

Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for manual time registration EURO 101,520Annual costs for a Dynaway BLUE installation the first 3 years EURO 16,262Saving the first 3 years EURO 82,258

After depreciation of the Dynaway BLUE investment, the savings accumulate significantly. Annual costs after depreciation of the software installation only include software update subscription fees and costs for calculation, approval, and follow-up. Now, consider the time registration process and workflow in your company. Please contact us for any assistance regarding cal-culations and quotations. Make your own indicative ROI calculation at www.dynaway.com/roi

Cost Savings Calculation

ROI: YEARS 0-3: ((101,520 X 3 )/(16,262 X 3)) X 100 = 624%

ROI: FROM YEAR 4 ONWARD ((101,520 X 3)/(6,720 X 3)) X 100 = 1,510%

HOW MUCH CAN YOU SAVE?This example contains our recommendations for a Dynaway BLUE setup. Specific requirements may vary, depending on your business setup. The calcu-lations below are based on the following prerequi-sites:

9 Installation costs for Dynaway BLUE are included. 9 Shop Floor Control functionality is setup in Micro-soft Dynamics AX.

9 On average, our customers set up 16 touch-based terminals for every 200 employees. The number of touch-based terminals installed de-pends on production facilities and requirements for easy access to the terminals.

16 High-quality 17” touch-based terminalsPrices for touch-based terminals depend on production environment requirements for waterproof and dust-resistant equipment. Our example is based on a waterproof and dust-resistant 17” touch pa-nel model. 1,350 per item.

Software installationDynaway BLUE software is installed for fixed price.

Software upgrade subscriptionSoftware upgrade subscription. 14 % per year over a 3-year period.

Follow-up and approvalThe time used for follow-up, calculation, and approval of registrati-ons is reduced to 17 hours per month, which results in an annual to-tal of 204 work hours. Costs relating to manual time registration are reduced drastically. Follow-up, calculation, and approval are reduced to only five minutes per month for each employee.

Dynaway BLUE time registration

Calculation and approval of time registrationsTime registration forms must be produced, printed, and handed out. The filled-out forms need to be collected, calculated, and approved. Monthly time consumption: 15 min. per employee

Correction of erroneous registrations When the initial calculation is done, errors must be corrected. Typically, these are errors that manual systems cannot warn against. Examples are absence not registered or confirmed, missing sick leave registra-tions, flexible hours, overtime, absence because of sick children, and incorrect rounding off. Monthly time consumption: 10 min. per employee

Registration in the ERP systemCorrected data must be entered into the ERP system. In the most ef-ficient scenario, that takes approx. five minutes for each employee. Monthly time consumption: 5 min. per employee

BASIS OF CALCULATION200 employees. Hourly wage EURO 18.00 per employeeAnnual wage EURO 33,333 per employee1,850 paid work hours per employee.

Failure ratio costsThe most cost-intensive errors are caused by manual handling of data, for example, incorrect data regarding work hours (clock-in, clock-out, vacation, breaks, absence) as well as round off, lieu days that are not held, and missing registrations. Some companies have calculated a loss of 1.2% of the annual wage costs. In our example, that sums up to EUR 6,660 per month.
