At a tidepool, there are three kinds of plants that grow under water.

Kelp
Kelp is the fastest growing plant on Earth! It can grow 18 inches in one day. That means it would be taller than you after only a week!
Kelp plants have four parts:
1) Holdfast 2) Stipe3) Floats (also called) Gas Bladders 4) Blades
At the tidepool, you will find kelp floating on the surface of the water.

Kelp Sea Grass Algae
Sea grass is dark green and has long, thin blades. It is found growing on rocks at the tidepool.
Algae is small and can be red, green, or brown. You will see algae close to the sides or
bottom of the tidepool. It can look fuzzy and feel slimy.
