Yarlung Zangbo River:The Yarlung Zangbo River, which finds its source on the Gyaimanezong Glacier in Zongba County in the northern foothills of the Himalayas, belongs to the water system of the Indian Ocean. The Yarlung Zangbo River flows from west to east across the southern section of the Tibet Plateau. It first runs across Mailing, then turns to north and east before sharply flowing south toward and then flowing into India. After it flows into India, its name is changed to the Brahumaputra River, which later meets with the Ganges River before joining the Indian Ocean from the Bay of Bengal

Jokhang Temple: Smaller and more manageable than the Potala, this 4-storey, golden-roofed temple is at the heart of a rich and living Tibetan Buddhism. Many locals pray here regularly; the Temple is surrounded by Barkhor Street and thronged with pilgrims and visitors. Yak butter lamps burn in front of rich statuary that includes the Sak

Day02 - Jokhang Temple
Barkhor Street: Watch the pilgrims, wearing local dress from many different parts of Tibet, as they circle clockwise around Jokhang Temple with prayer wheels, or prostrate themselves near the front gate. Join the locals and visitors to shop for local goods at the colourful stalls, or relax in a coffee shop or tea house to e
njoy the passing parade
Day02 - Barkhor Street
Tips: Walk through Bakhor Street in a clockwise direction as it goes around the temple and it is disrespectful to walk around anti-clockwise. For your safety, don’t stroll around the street too late. Every day after 6pm it turns into a fair trade market, mainly selling small articles of everyday use. There are many narrow lanes and side roads along the street. You may easily get lost i
f you venture down them in the dark.
Day02 - Barkhor Street
Lake Namtso is the second largest saltwater lake in China. The lake is beautiful with its azure water and surrounding snow capped peaks. There is a gravel road from Damxung to the lake. In the rainy season, the route can be quite difficult.
Day03 - Lake Namtso
Yambajan: It is famous for its hot spring and is a nice choice for those who want to get a close look at the Tibetan herders (drokpa) and their semi-nomadic lifestyle. west of Lhasa
Day03 - Yambajan
Sera Monastery: It is known as one of the three greatest monasteries of Tibet. As one of the three main monasteries of Lhasa, it is here that the monks 'famous daily debates' take place.
Day04 - Sera Monastery
Norbulingka: Norbulingka means 'Jeweled Garden'. It was constructed as a summer pala
ce for the Dalai Lama and later served the whole governmental administration
