Welcome
Welcome to our family home. My brother and I grew up here after we moved from Montreal as part of the 70’s oil boom. My dad was an engineer, my mom stayed home with us. We walked to school every day with a host of other kids who lived nearby. We played out in the street until the sun went down. My dad was always home for dinner; always kept his family as his #1 priority. Business trips were short, other than a few, when mom went with him to places like France, China, and Venezuela; my grandmother would come to stay with us. Mom and Dad would always come back from
these trips with a new collection of art, artifacts, and antiques, plus keepsakes and jewelry for me and Chris. Beautiful pieces that I had, at the time, no appreciation for. In the summers, we would head to the Okanagan, trailer in tow. It was a long journey to begin with, but it was ultra long for us kids, as mom and dad had to stop at a million antique places and at least a few orchards to see what was on offer. We always came back with more than we left with. I was exposed to art from a very young age. Mom was a volunteer docent at the Glenbow Mu-seum and both mom and dad were very involved with evolving, local, Canadian artists. I llingworth Kerr drew my portrait, in ballpoint pen, once when he was over for brunch. I think I was 8 As I grew older, I learned to appreciate and love the art around me, and mom and dad helped me start my own collection. Around you is a lifetime of love, joy, and history.
~ Tasha
