DWP and The Adecco Group would like your support with the Census 2021 high-volume recruitment campaign. Collectively we aim to promote inclusion across all community groups and ensure a diverse workforce is in place for the census.
This presents an exciting opportunity for candidates to be involved in the first ‘digital census’ in history. A wide range of temporary part-time and full-time roles will be available offering contractual periods between a couple of weeks to several months. Candidates can apply for officer (those working in the field), supervisory or managerial roles (subject to individual experience).
Adecco/ONS are working hard to ensure they are taking every necessary step and precaution to ensure the well-being of both staff and candidates, in light of COVID-19.
All adverts will be accessible on the microsite which is: www.censusjobs.co.uk
Using the same link there is also currently a platform for candidates to ‘Register’ their interest ahead of this date and for them to find out more information, including the story so far and how the Census has changed since 2011.
ONS (the end employer) requires all successful candidates to be civil servants for the duration of the contract, therefore all candidates must satisfy the Home Office and Civil Service guidelines. The ‘.gov.uk’ website contains further information (if required): https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/nationality-rules

PeoplePlus and Staffline have launched a new nationwide worker transition service as part of the campaign to Feed the Nation during the Covid-19 crisis.
We are working together to move people who have been made redundant, are ‘at risk’ or in the gig economy into the ‘essential services’ industries.
Many industries like travel and retail have been savagely hit by Covid-19. At the same time many industries associated with food production, food supply, supermarkets and delivery services are crying out for thousands of additional workers. It’s these food and produce sectors which the government has now categorised as ‘essential services’ – because without them we will see more of the alarming pictures we’ve all become used to on our TV screens and social feeds, of empty supermarket shelves and massive queues for food and basic supplies.
Working with our sister company, Staffline Recruitment and our combined partner community – many of the UK’s leading supermarket retailers and food supply-chain operators – we have created a nationwide ‘transition service’ for workers who have been made redundant or ‘at risk’ or are on zero hours contracts or in the gig economy to enable as many of them as possible to transition into jobs in these new ‘essential’ services on a direct-to-interview or training-to-interview basis at our new website: www.feedthenation.co.uk
For those who need further training to move into a different industry there are options of a two-day ‘transition course’ or longer course of a week to two weeks, if they have been out of work for longer.
Now more than ever, we need to support workers into different sectors and equip them with the skills necessary to support their country. Our training also involves personal wellbeing and financial coaching, helping people at the most vulnerable points in their lives so that we support their mental wellbeing and help them into new jobs as quickly as possible.
If you are an employer, or an individual who wants to know more, please visit www.feedthenation.co.uk
We are helping to recruit and train a temporary workforce to #DeliverToTheNation As the UK’s biggest recruiter, we are supporting the delivery of our nation’s supply chains by responding to the increased demand in temporary job requirements. Staffline Recruitment and PeoplePlus (the UK’s leading adult training provider) are responding to this unprecedented challenge in the form of a nationwide recruitment campaign, to support the UK’s essential services, including food supply, retail and delivery. Apply for a job Available Options We have three routes to get you back into work quickly: 01 Interview to Employment For candidates who are unemployed, job-ready and can start work immediately. 02 Transition Training For candidates who are unemployed and would benefit from a two day training session before entering a new industry sector. 03 Sector Specific Employment Training For candidates who need more in depth training approximately 1-2 weeks; to up-skill and prepare for work. For more information and to view vacancies, please visit https://www.delivertothenation.co.uk/
Looking to work on a UK Fruit & Veg farm? From pickers and packers, to plant husbandry and tractor or forklift drivers, there are a wide range of roles available. Pick For Britain helps bring workers and employers together and ensures the UK can continue to deliver the best quality British fruit & veg for everyone to enjoy. Here, you will find growers, recruiters, and agencies that have job opportunities across the country. Come help pick for Britain to feed the nation! What to expect There are a wide range of roles across the country and they can vary dependant on the type of business. There’s no mistaking picking can be hard work and can involve being outdoors through all weather conditions. Some of the work will depend on the weather, so flexibility in term of hours you work will be required. A good level of fitness is usually required. All workers receive induction, training and a full health and safety briefing. You will be part of a supportive team, often working outside in the fresh air and you are bound to make new friends.
Policing is a career like no other. Our police officers, police staff and volunteers show courage, teamwork and compassion on a daily basis to make a real difference to people’s lives in the communities they serve. As a police officer, you will work across an increasingly diverse community and face an ever-changing criminal landscape. Whether working as a uniformed officer or detective, you’ll be part of in an increasingly diverse workforce, and develop the skills and knowledge to deal with new and emerging types of crime, such as cybercrime, as well as high-harm offences like rape and domestic abuse. To be the best we can be, we need to attract the best people. It’s a tough but rewarding job and we’ll work hard to ensure we give you the genuine support you need to succeed. Because we know that only a looked after officer can give the public the best possible protection. Do you have the skills we are looking for? We look for all kinds of skills, because we know it takes all kinds of people to protect the public. Problem solving, compassion, resilience, respect, courage and teamwork. These are the qualities we are looking for, and if you think you might have the skills to serve get in touch. Salary and benefits We know that it isn’t all about the money and it’s making a difference that motivates our people the most. We never want to lose sight of that, but we also know that when people are starting out on a new career, or moving to a new area of the country, it can be difficult. That’s why Hampshire has chosen to have the highest starting salary of any force in the South East, with new recruits currently joining on more than £24,000 plus allowances and benefits. As you develop your skills, this can rise to more than £40,000 after seven years as a police constable. And there could be opportunities for promotion and development on top of that.
Police Recruitment

How do I apply? NEW POLICE OFFICERS: For those who aren’t already in policing, there are now three main routes in. And don’t worry if you don’t have a degree. Some people think you need one to join, but that isn’t the case. We welcome degree holders (see Entry Routes 2 & 3 below) but many future officers will join Hampshire Constabulary under Entry Route 1, where you can actually earn a degree on the job, saving the cost of paying for one yourself.
OTHER ENTRY ROUTES: There are also non-traditional routes to enter policing including Direct Entry, Police Now and the force’s Specialist Entry Detective programme. You can read more about these here. Positive action It’s also worth remembering that the Equality Act 2010 allows us to promote equality within Hampshire Constabulary by adopting Positive Action to support people from under-represented groups. Our aim is to recruit talented people with a diverse range of skills and experience and welcome applications from all sections of the community. Our Positive Action team are available to provide support through the application and assessment process by contacting: [email protected]. You can contact this team at any time, whether we are actively recruiting for a particular role or not. Eligibility You will need to be at least 18 years old and have no criminal record; some minor offences may not exclude you, but you should check with us if you are concerned. You’ll also need a full UK manual driving licence. You also need to have lived in the UK for the last three years, and have the right to live and work in the country indefinitely. There are some exceptions for those serving in the armed forces, members of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, and those who have taken a career break or gap year to travel or work abroad for up to 12 months. If you receive a conditional offer of employment or you are placed into a pool of successful candidates to whom we intend to make a conditional offer when the position arises, you must agree to undergo recruitment screening which may consist of vetting (including Biometrics), medical, references and a job-related fitness test. The criteria include:
Having 6/36 uncorrected vision or 6/12 corrected in either eye AND 6/6 in both eyes. Laser correction is fine after six weeks, but severe colour vision deficiencies (monochromat) will prevent you from joining.
Having a body mass index (BMI) between 20 and 29. Being able to reach level 5.4 on a 15-metre shuttle run. Full eligibility criteria will be included at the point we advertise for police officer roles.
If you have any questions about police officer recruitment, please email [email protected].
