Paragraph 3
Explain your second persuasive point and support this with evidence, facts and statistics.
Concluding statement
Repeat your most important opinion/fact. Use a rhetorical question.
Zoos have always been a controversial topic; some believe zoos are great and support them but others believe zoos are cruel
and should be banned. Everyone has their own views and opinions on zoos. Many people assume that zoos are horrible, but it
is because they are not well informed about what zoos actually do for animals and people. Should we allow Zoos in our
country? Would we really miss zoos if they were not here?
Well the answer is yes. Zoos are not only a source of entertainment for people but zoos focus and prioritise on animal care and
conservation to help fight extinction of endangered animals. Unfortunately, in our lifetime, we could see the extinction of some
of the worlds most well- known species, such as the white rhino. With only two white rhinos left confirmed (two females; Fatu,
18 and Najin, 29), which are both in captivity this will surely be the end of these beautiful creatures. Furthermore, the last
known male of the species (knows as Sudan) died in Kenya on 19th March 2018. I personally do not want to encounter any
other species reaching extinction and zoos can help this overwhelming and heart-breaking problem. On a more positive note,
after 10 years of conservation work in Indonesia's Sebangau National Park and local zoos, the WWF announced in November
2015 that orangutan numbers - which holds the largest wild orangutan population in the world - had risen by 7 percent since
2007, with 5,826 individuals recently counted. Consequently, this is proof that animal care and conservation projects in zoo are
successful and also that zoos play an integral part in this triumph.
You will then neat another paragraph here, raising a different persuasive point with evidence.
To conclude, if you believe that zoos make a significant difference then support the building of more zoos. People need to
understand that zoos have programs that breed endangered animals as well as rescue programs for exotic animals that people
are no longer able to support. Also, they have many hands on activities that allow people to get more connected to animals. In
addition, zoos do not only focus on animals. They focus on environmental problems/concerns as well. Surely, you can see that
zoos are vital to the survival and welfare of wild animals and without them, we would certainly fewer species.
