NEW MODERN AND DISTINCTIVE LOOK Thomson Reuters Eikon now features a modern and distinctive look in a charcoal theme that enhances clarity and readability of data.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

The bold new look has been applied across the Thomson Reuters Eikon container, flex environment and views, creating a professional and unified feel throughout the application.

Each color has been specifically selected to ensure excellent data comprehension and highlights the most important information for you. The new look improves the overall experience by demonstrating a clear hierarchy and clean, logical structure.

There is also the ability to choose the background color according to personal preference to allow you to work with the most efficient and effective display setup for you.

HOW TO ACCESS?

The new look will be applied automatically when updating to Thomson Reuters Eikon 3.0.

If you would like to return to the Classic look with a white background, open the Helios menu and under the “Preferences” item, click the option to “Choose Theme…”. Inside the Theme and Colors window, click the dropdown under “Choose Color Theme” to select either Charcoal or Pearl theme.

VIEW, CREATE AND EDIT MARKET MOVING ALERTS – WHEREVER YOU ARE Introducing a new and intuitive Alerting interface that will deliver a wide range of Alerts to you via the desktop or email.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

The new version of Alerts will allow you to create complex market data alerts, news alerts, alerts on new research content, alerts on significant developments and alerts on new corporate filings. These alerts can be delivered and viewed in an alert history inbox, via an interactive popup, via a toast notification or via email notification. You no longer need to be logged into the Thomson Reuters Eikon desktop to receive email alerts – you will be able to create alerts on an individual RIC or on a portfolio of instruments.

The new Alerting functionality, complete with a new user interface that makes alert creation and alert management simpler, offers more customization. You will now have greater control of when and how you receive alerts.

You can easily access alerts via the new Alert icon in the toolbar or via right-clicking on a quote-list item.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

Deeper time series intra-day history within Charts and Time & Sales apps means you will now be able to access double the amount of tick data and up to 50 times more 1 minute summary data then before. You now have access to 60,000 points of tick data and full 90 days of 1 minute data for all stocks.

Having deep intra-day data allows you to perform better and more detailed analysis and identify trading patterns on a more granular level. This enables a better feel for the movements of a particular instrument allowing you to make better trading decisions.

HOW TO ACCESS?

When in a Chart, ensure that ‘Max Data Mode’ is enabled under the range menu. When in Time & Sales, ensure that the ‘Load all available data’ option is enabled under the View menu.

There is also a 1 time requirement to set the record limits for Chart and Time & Sales apps under the Eikon, Tools, Options menu.

ACCESS MSCI INDICES IN PORTFOLIO ANALYTICS

ACCESS MSCI INDICES IN PORTFOLIO ANALYTICS MSCI customers can now request entitlement to the appropriate indices for Portfolio Analytics.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

Over 1,000 variants of MSCI’s equity indices are available for MSCI customers. You will now be able to leverage your preferred benchmarks while analyzing portfolios.

HOW TO ACCESS?

This enhancement applies to index access in Portfolio Analytics only.

In order to request the entitlement:

1) You need to deal directly with MSCI to subscribe to the relevant MSCI data.

2) You should instruct MSCI ([email protected]) to send to Thomson Reuters an authorization email at TRPA_Entitlements asking that we provide access on theThomson Reuters Eikon platform. Email should include:

a. all names of individuals who should be entitled

b. the indices to which each user should be entitled

c. confirmation that all users are entitled to details for both constituents and weights


MSCI customers can now run portfolio analytics against MSCI benchmarks.

Once entitlements are enabled, the appropriate MSCI indices can be accessed by clicking Search All Benchmarks.

Note recently selected portfolios and benchmarks are always available.

The Quote List can now display your portfolio along with a selection of the most commonly used measures of real time portfolio and security-level performance and contribution, both absolute and relative to the portfolio’s benchmark. Add a portfolio to a Quote List along with any combination of other instruments or indices and use the portfolio’s summary row to hide and show the constituents. Right-click on the portfolio to navigate to the related News, Events, Research or Analytics. Currently portfolio calculations are supported for equities, ETFs, mutual funds and cash positions.

BENEFITS

• View the real time performance and contribution of your portfolio versus the benchmark

• Calculations for multi-currency portfolios are automatically converted to the portfolio’s default currency using the latest FX rates

• Portfolio header row lets you decide if you want to view just the portfolio summary or the portfolio summary and security-level data

HOW TO ACCESS?

1. Open a Quote List and use the input field to type the name of a portfolio. Auto-suggest will show the portfolio, select it and then it will be added to the top of the Quote List.

From the OptionWatch object, select the Show regional options when available from the Properties menu.

Click on the + by the strike price to show the regional options for the expiry/strike price.

Click on the + on the top row will show all regional options.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

The Chart pane in the Blended Order Book provides an immediate “liquidity at glance” view by showing into a Pie Chart a breakdown of the traded volume for the selected exchanges/venues (including volumes coming from OTC trade reporting). If you select all the available markets, the chart will display the top 9 and the remaining ones will be grouped in the “Others” category.

HOW TO ACCESS?

Insert the Blended Order Book into a Flex Sheet, enable the Chart Pane from the object’s toolbar or right click on the object and select Options -> Properties: in the General tab simply tick the “Chart” property.

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

The Aggregated Quote display mode in the Blended Order Book allows you to monitor all quotes belonging to a specific stock’s issue in realtime. Quotes are by default converted to the main currency (the one of the RIC that you enter) and ranked by Volume descending, but you can play with the different filters and change the sorting, too. The Chart Pane can be enabled to graphically display the liquidity breakdown.

• Display all quotes ranked by Volume (but criteria can be changed, for instance quotes can be sorted by Pct Chg)

• Display only quotes in the same currency, or display all “currency adjusted” quotes with the possibility to select the desired currency

• Delayed RICs can be included in the display

• “Non-tradable” prices can be excluded from the display

• Chart Pane can be presented side by side with the Aggregated Quote display

WHAT’S INCLUDED?

• The Blended Time and Sales display mode in the Time and Sales object allows you to monitor a Trade Log from all the available markets (by default) or from the exchanges/venues you may want to select. A default selection of trade types is offered for each market, but it’s possible to change it to customize the VWAP calculation on the desired (intraday) period. Currency conversion is not supported

• Blended Trade Log and VWAP calculation for the current day

• Time range can be defined and by selecting “Now”, the current time will be snapped allowing you to start collecting trades and calculating VWAP from that specific time with a second accuracy

• All the available exchanges/venues (in the same currency of the RIC you entered) are included by default, but you can create your own selection

WHAT’S INCLUDED

For each curve, we use the same source for standard periods and IMM periods in order to keep term structures consistent. When ‘Use IMM Periods’ is activated in Calculation Parameters, the Forward Source drop-downs are filtered to only show sources providing IMM data:

Should you want to use a source which only provides standard periods, you can do so by checking ‘Display All Standard Tenor Sources’ in Calculation Parameters (we check that option automatically in case no IMM source is available for the currency). Whenever IMM points are not available, they are automatically interpolated (displayed in blue) and can still be overtyped.

Once IMM periods are added, they are taken into account in all calculations, most importantly in the interpolation of broken dates:

Note: If an IMM date coincides exactly with a standard tenor, priority is given to the standard tenor, thus the IMM date is not used.

You’ll be able to identify spread relationships, such as onshore versus offshore, cash versus futures, and cash versus short swaps. You can also evaluate cash treasury bills against each other and other short term rates.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

The ECB Liquidity View is a new feature to the Euro Zone Regional Guide. Providing a picture of the following:

• The components of the ECB Open Market Operations contributing most to the liquidity conditions in the Euro area

• Excess liquidity available in the market. This is the difference between the liquidity provided by the ECB and the liquidity needs of the participants in the system

• Excess reserves: This is the difference between banks average reserve requirements and the amounts that they have in their current account holdings

ECB Liquidity has an impact on short-term and long-term interest rates, FX rates, shares and stock indices as well as oil prices.

You’ll be able to identify the component ECB Open Market Operations that are contributing most to the liquidity conditions in the Euro Area, in addition to viewing the Excess Liquidity and Excess Reserves in the Euro Area.
