During this evening we will discuss the beliefs, policies, and opportunities of Winkler EMMC as well as answer questions you may have. Please bring your Bible to this session. Please sign up for this evening at the ‘sign up table’ in the foyer. Also pick up your application for membership at this table and have the application completed and with you on March 4. For further information, contact Pastor Loren or call Lydia at the church office, 325-7667. 3. More volunteers are needed to work at the Winkler MCC Thrift Shop on the first Thursday of each month with others from our congre- gation. There are two shifts, either 9-1 or 1-5. if interested call Anna Heide at 204-325-8552. 4. Candice Bergen is asking churches to respond to the latest Federal Government restriction on religious freedom in Canada. The Govern- ment has put restrictions on those trying to access the Canada Summer Jobs program. Organizations that apply for funding must fill out an application that requires agreement to respect the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms on issues like reproductive rights (abortion), and other matters. If the applying group morally disagrees and does not mark the appropriate box on the application affirma- tively, the application process will not let those applying to proceed with the rest of the application. As a church it is important that we remind our Federal Government that this unfairly targets those who disagree with it on moral matters like abortion. A letter from Candice outlining the issue and suggestions for response is available on the signup table in the foyer. 5. Pick up your Annual Congregational Minutes on the pillars in the foyer. 6. Parents of senior high students are invited to pick up a copy of the latest edition of The Inside Scoop at the Christian Education News bulletin board in the foyer or view it on the church website under “Resources”. Stay informed and be empowered to continue faith conversations with your teens at home! 7. 2018 WEMMC Directories are available in the church office during the week. Payment will be accepted for directories not already paid for. Cost is $10. per copy. 8. Pastor Tim is looking for volunteers to make snack for youth nights. If you sign up, you will be contacted periodically throughout the year and in advance of the day you are asked to make a snack. If you are willing to take part in the youth ministry in this way, please sign up in the foyer to talk to Pastor Tim.
