Theatre MinistryA Streetcar Named Desire, Friday, March 23, 8:00 p.m. at Theatre @ Boston Court. Tickets are $25 and available at http://qrs.ly/z664ro2. This daring new production strips away decades of Southern gothic gauze to reveal striking themes of class, race, and gender—reinvigorat-ing the classic that shocked audiences in its debut 70 years go. By placing the iconic 1940s-era Blanche within an entirely contemporary and multicultural environment, this 21st century production high-lights the timeless relevance of this play for our divided America. Want to Mark a Special Day?

For your birthday, anniversary, or in memory of a loved one, consider bringing the bread and wine up the aisle for communion at the 9:00 or 11:15 a.m. Sunday service. After offering these “oblations” to the priest at the altar, you stand in the circle with the other ministers for the Eucharistic prayer, receive communion, and then return to your seat. You may do this with a partner or be paired with someone else. To sign up or for more information, please contact Beverly Franco at 626.280.9048 or [email protected].

Lay Counseling MinistryThe ministers are volunteer lay counselors, trained to assist persons undergoing situa-tional and emotional difficulties. If you are

experiencing such difficulties, you may leave a confidential message on the dedicated line at

626.583.2706 and a coordinator will call you to schedule a meeting.

Thank You! Last Sunday Jim Loduha received more than

150 text messages during our appeal for pledges and increases to existing pledges. As of Wednesday, February 28, we received more than $121,000 in increased giving. You can still text your pledge or increase to 424.245.9513.

Thank you for being a community of radical love!

A Communion Reminder A number of years ago All Saints discontinued the practice of intinction — dipping the communion wafer

into the chalice. We made that decision on the advice of healthcare professionals and in response to data clearly demonstrating that fingers dipping into the cup exponentially increases the risk of contagion — something we are particularly sensitive to during this active flu season. So after receiving the bread,

we ask you to help guide the cup to your lips or — if you prefer not to receive the wine — to touch the cup when it is presented to you.

Seeking Volunteers for the New Children’s Worship Rug

We are seeking volunteers to help with weekly cleaning of toys and occasional set up of the Children’s Worship rug in the chapel. Volunteers would be responsible for taking toys home right after the 11:15

a.m. service to put into their washing machine or dish washer and bringing back during the week or the next Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. For toys that cannot be washed in a dish washer (books, toys made of wood) the volunteer would be in charge of wiping them down with Lysol wipes. Volunteers will also occa-sionally be asked to help with set up of the rug on Sunday mornings. The estimated time commitment of this project would be less than an hour a month. We are looking for 4–5 volunteers to take one Sunday a month. For more information or to volunteer please contact Kelly Phelan at [email protected].

Donations Needed for ASC Food MinistryEvery Monday 70 to 110 low-income and homeless

men, women, and children come to All Saints to receive food, toiletries, cloth-ing, and social service refer-rals. Donations are gratefully received each

Sunday, in the basket on the lawn by the “Cookie Table” or in the main office on weekdays. Items needed include: deodorant, razors, shampoo, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, socks, underwear, and t-shirts (all toiletry items are preferred in travel size). Information = Ada Ramirez at 626.583.2734 or [email protected].
