We did some role play on how the village would act in the long, cold winter and in the short summer.

We wrote letters to Ivan’s parents explain why he ran away. Some of our letters are displayed outside our room.

Some questions you could ask your child….

Who is Ivan? Why did Ivan run away? What sort of person is Ivan? Where is the story set? Why does the village not like winter? What challenges does Ivan face? What do you predict will happen next?
