My Family
This project incorporates the learning of specific technology

continues to the end. In the View tab, select Notes Pages for
directions (bottom half in that screen) to produce each slide.
Also, please note: there are two closing slides, based on similar
writing prompts. Students will choose one or the other (their
choice) to use as their closing, but I have included a sample based
on each.*When finished, student copies will be set to play
automatically, but this sample needs to be kept manual for
instructional purposes.
Professionally Significant Project: This student project will
incorporate social studies GLCES, CCSS from reading and writing,
language, and technology skills for my students. It will be shared
with my grade level teammates to use in their classrooms if they

Open a new presentation. Select the Design tab. Select a style
and if you want to change the color scheme, do so. Write the title
in the largest box and author in the smallest box.
Go to the Animations tab. Select Add Animation. Select the top
box on your page and then select Float In. Select the bottom box
and select Float In.
Next select the Insert tab. On the right of your screen select
the down arrow next to Audio. Then Clip ArtAudio. Type in music" in
the top Search for: box, and select Visions music. Click your save
disk (2nd button in the very top left of your screen)
Now, go back to the Animatins tab, select Animation Pane. On the
right of your screen a box will pop up. The music file will be at
the bottom, slide it up to just below the title. Select the down
arrow to its right and select Start with Previous. Now listen to
make sure the music comes in . 3My family is important to me. They
are my history. I look like them and act like them. The best thing
about my family is that they will love me forever.
On the Home tab, select the down arrow next to the New Slide and
select Blank. Next, go to Insert and select Text Box. Stretch it
across your page.
In the text box, type your introduction . Make sure to use all
complete sentences that start with a capital letter and end with
punctuation. Read it aloud to yourself when you are finished to
make sure all the sentences sound good.
Once you have practiced you will narrate and save the narration
on this slide. Select Insert, then Audio, then Record Audio. Make
sure your microphone is positioned by your mouth. Record your
writing. Listen. If it sounds like you want it to, save and go to
your next slide. If it does not, make sure you go out of the slide,
without saving, then go back in and repeat the process again.
4Three Generations of My Family
Title: either Two Generations of My Family or Three Generations
of My Family or another appropriate title.
In the large lower box, select Smart Art using the upper right
hand icon.
Select the top circle, go to Insert, select Picture, then
Pictures (in left column under Libraries) . Find the picture (see
silde above) and insert it. In the placeholder to the right,
correctly spell the first and last name of this person. Repeat with
the second and third places.
Once you have practiced you will narrate and save the narration
on this slide. Select Insert, then Audio, then Record Audio. Make
sure your microphone is positioned by your mouth. Record your
writing. Listen. If it sounds like you want it to, save and go to
your next slide. If it does not, make sure you go out of the slide,
without saving, then go back in and repeat the process again.

together on their Parisville, Michigan farm until he died 36 years
later. Grandma Verna has lived as a widow since then, playing cards
with friends, visiting family, and tending to her flowers and yard.

We Are the Same and DifferentOne thing I have in common with my
grandma is that we both have a way with plants. Something that is
different between us is that she hates to cook and I love to
cook.
Something my mom and I have in common is that we are both
organized. A difference is that she had a large family of five
children, and I had a small family with just two boys.

presentation. Use complete sentences. Type them on this page in
paragraph form then narrate.

9Time Changes Some ThingsOne thing my grandma did as a girl that
