SOME TIMES WE FEEL BORED.

Some times we can feel bored. It is not a happy feeling.

There are some things that do not bother us: Sports

Like a Soccer day

In the day of the game, do players just arrive, and see your team mates for the first time? No!

what do you do? You practice!1. Does PRACTICE has a regular schedule?

The coach might say, “We will meet and we will practice on Wednesday from 2 to 5.

2. Do you practice alone or with the team? With the TEAM! You learn how to play the coach teaches you what to do an dhow to

improve.

3. Do you learn anything individually, too?

4. How many times do you practice before the game? About two or 3 times

MEMBERS ARE VERY BUSY IN SOCCER TEAM

you are very busy in the soccer team! a) You practice, you do a lot of things to prepare,

b) And you work on your team spirit too.

Why is it that we enjoy soccer so much, and we go to practice after practice. 1. Does the coach ever mention sportsmanship?

2. He gives spirit-talks sometimes. SPIRIT

3. You have a team-spirit talk?

Look this word: UNDERSTAND. a) You understand the game,

b) your coach tells you how to play,

c) you are learning how to play,

d) how to stand..

That is important. That is why you are not bored!

You play with your team!

Is anyone watching you? Yes , your family. You are not alone. You are with others.

When we go to soccer games, we like to play, to take part.

That is why you are not boredbecause your coach says, “Come in, you are in now!: TAKE PART”

It is one more reason for enjoying the game.

Do you like to win or lose? Win!We like to WIN

THE LORD’S DAYToday we are going to talk about another day, the Lord’s Day.Keep in mind the five reasons why you like soccer day.

We will see if we could win on the Lord’s Day, too!

God loves us so much that He asks: “Come, spend this special day with me!

Sometimes it is not easy for us to spend a day with Him, go to church, to Mass.

When you go to Mass, what is the hardest for you?

Sometimes, we really don’t know what is going on, and we are bored, but God in not boring!

He doesn’t want us to be bored.

Page 7: Third commandment for kids

WHY WE GET BORED IN CHURCH?

1. How do we prepare for the day of the Lord?

2. Do we prepare 2 or 3 times a week for the great Day of the Lord?

I don’t think we do,

and this is why we may be bored when we go to church.

We are not preparing for the day!

Remember what we like about soccer? We like soccer.

Do you like God? I think you do more than “like” Him, YOU LOVE HIM!

LOVE HIM & UNDERSTANDING

LOVE GOD

REST

1. WE LOVE GOD

2. UNDERSTANDING.

I am really not sure, we understand the Lord’s Day.1. Do you know why gave it to us?2. Do you know what that day is about— as well as you

know what soccer is about?

It is the day of understanding that God gave us a DAY OF REST

1. Rest?! What does it mean?2. Do you have to lie in bed all day?3. Its sounds boring, isn’t it?

But I told you that God is not boring.

Then why did he ask us to rest?

REST

We rest our bodies… and rest our hearts.Rest our minds.

From what? From hurts! Many things happen during the week that may hurts us .

Can you think of some hurts?Hurt make us sad.

God is inviting us: “Come! Bring your hurt to Me! If you rest that hurt, you will remember that I love you”

RESTSIN

Some times we have Sins

We make mistakes.

1. What is the Lord saying to all of us?

“Come, bring that sin here. Bring that mistake here an rest it in Me. And when you rest it, you will remember that I forgive, that I am a forgiving Father.”

REST SIN

Sometimes we worry.

What do we worry about?a) Our Mom and Dad fight sometimes; that worries

us.

b) Our older brothers and sisters are getting into trouble.

c) Maybe Grandma is dying.

God invites us: “Come and rests that worry with Me, and I will comfort you.”

When you know this about God, You are happy to rest with Him, and remember how good He is.

Page 12: Third commandment for kids

COMMUNITY WORSHIP

What else did we say about soccer? Others!

We didn’t just go to the game by ourselves; we had teammates, family, friends.

God is saying: “I want my family around; I want them to know each other, to call each other by name.”

He knows that it is good for us to be together and hear His good news, “I love you! My Son want to come to you and be part of your life!”

Page 13: Third commandment for kids

COMMUNITY WORSHIP

1. What do we call these people around us in church? We call them a COMMUNITY.

2. Why do we come together? TO WORSHIP

Now we are beginning to UNDERSTAND why we come to church on Sundays.

By being there, we are saying to each other, “I believe in God… I believe in Jesus Christ… I believe the Holy Spirit who is the love of God”

We have come to worship God with and through Jesus Christ. We are not worshiping soccer or money! We have decided to worship God.

Page 14: Third commandment for kids

THE 3RD COMMANDMENT

When we are doing this, we are doing what God has asked us.

God deserves that we show our love for Him in this way.

This is the 3rd Commandment: “To honor the Day of the Lord.”

Page 15: Third commandment for kids

THE 3RD COMMANDMENT

TAKE PARTIn Soccer, we like to take part.

1. When we go to church, do we just watch and not take part in the Mass?

Sometimes, we may just be spectators…

and that is why we are bored.

But we can and should we ask TAKE PART.

When the Priest says, “The Lord be with you,” what do you do? 1. Do you watch other people?

2. or do you respond to the Father: “And also with you”?

When he says, “Let us pray,” he asks us to come and pray, 1. do you pray?

2. Or do you just watch other people pray?

Maybe that is why we are bored.

Page 17: Third commandment for kids

TAKE PARTWhen the Father asks us to come, and present the gifts, Do we volunteer to present the gifts? Sometimes, we can!—

When the Priest asks us to lift up our hearts, he says, “lift up our hearts!” Do you lift up your hearts?

We can take part!

We can talk to the Lord.

And when we talk to Him, we are TAKING PART.

Page 18: Third commandment for kids

WE ALL WIN

In soccer we try to win.

Who will WIN on the Lord’s Day?

The Lord wins: A. He wins our love.

B. He wins our respect.

C. We are winners, too, when we love and respect God and worship Him.

At the end of Mass, the Priest say, “Go to love and serve the Lord and one another.”

1. Be kind to your families. Be kind to the people you meet

2. Recognize Jesus in each other. Win with the Lord!

3. Remember the Third Commandment: Keep Holy the Lord’s Day.
