Why a campus re-design?Updated landscaping is more than just pretty…

• IMPROVED SAFETY: – New busing set up with a more direct line to the school entrance– Improved bus unloading and loading

• IMPROVED UTILIZATION: – New spaces for outdoor classes – New spaces for social events

• IMPROVED VALUE: – Our school is a reflection of our community– Improved design will increase usage– Increased usage will improve the value of the community and the homes in it.

And we’re due… only funding in 12 years was for the new roof!

Safety-busing policy “Vehicles or gas-powered equipment, with the exception of

vehicles used by the school for student transportation, shall NOT idle near outside air intakes, building ENTRANCES or exits or where students are loading and unloading.”

- Grounds and Building Exterior Checklist

Currently the children walk past a line of running cars to get from the buses into the school every day.

Improved UtilizationNew Gathering Places, Planting Opportunities

Low walls/benches will provide gathering places for teachers to hold class outside.

Raised beds will provide areas for the seasonal plantings for teachers to use.

So, are you excited yet?

Of course you are,

But you have questions…

Page 24: Thinking outside the box 5 25-11

How much will it cost?

• All questions regarding cost will be filtered through the PTA executive board. The community has an open invitation to come to every meeting.

• Bond money is already slated for certain aspects of our design like capital improvements.

Page 25: Thinking outside the box 5 25-11

When will all of this happen?

• Timing and phasing to be determined. • We can do as much or as little at a time

depending on interest level and/or budget.
