Interstate Brick
H.C. Muddox
Interstate Brick and H.C. Muddox are widely recognized as two of the premier brickmanufacturers in the United States. The abundant, high-quality clay deposits that started each company, will continue to provide to the array of colors and exceptional quality that has become the trademark of our companies.
Interstate Brick was established in 1891 and joined the Pacific Coast Building Products family in 1990. The company’s products, used in residential and commercial construction, offer several distinguishing features that motivate architects and builders across the country to specify them. Unique shades, such as Canyon Rose; Arctic White, Desert Sand, and aselection of variegated stone hues provide a vivid palette from which architects can create dramatic effects. Interstate Brick also works with architects to create unique shapes and custom bricks that extend the creative design possibilities.
Interstate Brick produces a full line of standard brick products and sizes, including face brick, pavers, and pool coping. The company’s distinctive products include Atlas Structural bricks manufactured up to 16 inches long to permit taller, thinner walls that can withstandearthquakes, extreme wind conditions, and fire. The company also provides 16-inch Emperor Face Brick that can be scored to look like smaller bricks, allowing masons to increase their output. The company’s structural engineers are available to assist customers in determining how best to apply the natural beauty of brick to buildings of all sizes.
As the oldest brick manufacturer on the west coast, H.C. Muddox was founded in 1878, it produced many of the sewer pipes, bricks, chimney flues, and other building materials that were used to construct many culturually significant and historical buildings in Northern California that still stand today. Eventually, the demand for brick led H.C. Muddox to focus its resources on becoming the region’s leading brick manufacturer.
H.C. Muddox joined Pacific Coast Building Products in 1980 and now supplies a largedistributor network with clay products that include standard face brick, thin brick, flueliners, pavers, pool coping, and structural brick. H.C. Muddox also offers custom shapes, sizes and colors in a range of products. H.C. Muddox assists architects, owners and contractors in selecting the right product for the job. Whether it’s thin brick, face brick, structural brick or paving products that your project requires, H.C. Muddox is ready to assist in your selection and guide you through the process of design and application.
