The Thermo Scientific ™ ECA technology retrofit (ECA-R) is a comprehensive solution to the problem of aging electronics used on the existing ECA analyzers. By extending the life of the existing on-site analyzer, the ECA-R is the most cost-effective alternative to purchasing a new analyzer. The installation costs are minimized as the existing shielding and structural components are used as currently installed. The ECA-R replaces all electronics, software, computer hardware and detector systems. ECA-R replaces failure prone and potentially obsolete analog electronics with digital electronics. The ECA-R Random Pulse Processor (RPP4) is the most advanced digital signal processor designed specifically for PGNAA-based analyzers. Also, by using industry standard components in the upgrade we will reduce the mean time to troubleshoot and repair. ECA-R also allows for flexible plant connectivity. Plant information such as flow rates, belt speeds and feeder rates can easily connect directly into the electronics enclosure. Steps to Implement RetrofitAll existing Thermo Scientific ECA analyzer models can be upgraded to the ECA-R technology. A site application review may be required prior to order acceptance. Once the order is received and the ECA-R is delivered, our field engineer will be dispatched to the site to install and commission the retrofit. The ECA-R upgrade can be implemented in one single step by replacing hardware and software and will result in analyzer unavailability for only a period of three to seven days.
Deliverables• One or Two detector assemblies – factory
calibrated with state-of-the- art digital ECA-R pre-amp, high-voltage and temperature control electronics
• One electronics enclosure including state-of-the-art ECA-R Pulse Processor 4 (RPP4)
• One operator consol (OpCon) with Windows® operating system and Thermo Scientific Nautilus software
• High speed communication link between the OpCon and electronics enclosure
Overview of ECA-R Upgrade kit
• One umbilical cable (25 meters) between the analyzer and electronics enclosure
