Our goal is simple: to establish a branch of Kollel Chatzos in every city. Kollel Chatzos was created with the stated objective of restoring the former glory of the Torah. We hope to institute more centers where Torah study will take place through the night, just as it was studied by our forefathers throughout the ages. Let every city that is home to a Jewish community host a source of Torah and protection, where dedicated individuals are able to utilize the precious night hours for learning Torah – the purpose for which nighttime was created (Eruvin 65a) – as well as to pray for the safety and welfare of Klal Yisroel.

CrownThe
of Torah
Like a dazzling crown, every aspect of its ornate work proclaiming master craftsmanship and majesty: the intricate metalwork, the
unparalleled luxury of the brilliant stone insets. Each precious gemstone shimmers in its own right, combining to form an exquisite work of breathtaking beauty.
Kollel Chatzos is a network of houses of Torah and prayer where dozens of Torah scholars of all ages gather each night to fulfill the words of the Shulchan Aruch: “One must be even more vigilant about learning at night than during the day.” (Orach
Chaim 238:1) Each Beis Medrash is another gemstone; each Torah scholar another shining facet that lends its own light to the overall work.
While the cool night breeze stirs the air outside, inside the Kollelim are ablaze with fire as these men bask in the warmth of the Torah. Our kollel members spend the night hours immersed in their studies, devoting a portion of their rich schedule to the mention of the names and davening for those who have signed up as partners with Kollel Chatzos. The long study session is rounded off with a captivating
davening k’vasikin—with the sunrise, the ideal time for the morning prayers. (Orach Chaim 89:1)
Kollel Chatzos is the only kollel of its type. We maintain several branches across the New York area as well as one in Eretz Yisroel, at the tomb of the holy Rashbi in Meron. Together they span 14 consecutive hours of Torah study each night! This network of Torah centers serves to protect the greater community while illuminating the world with the joy and light of Torah. Please join us as we present you an inside look at the activities of Kollel Chatzos and the many segulos merited through our wonderful and unique program.
What greater proof of its inestimable worth can there be than the words of the Rambam, who
writes, “Whosoever wishes to merit the crown of Torah should be vigilant [to study Torah] all
his nights and should not waste even one of them….” (Hilchos Talmud Torah 3:13)

I come to strengthen the chashuva activists headed by Rabbi Nechemiah Hoffman shlit”a who have written regarding a very good and sacred effort to create a new venue to be called Kollel Chatzos….
In such a setting the subjects of Torah and Tefilah will be accomplished in the most wholesome manner, as the value of Torah study at night is well known as explained in the Rambam Hilchos Talmud Torah 3:13, and especially after midnight as clarified in the seforim in the name of the Zohar….
In light of the above, how great is the merit of anyone who partners in supporting this holy institution with a generous spirit and hand in accordance with the goodness Hashem has granted him.
“All the blessings that they express will be fulfilled.” (Zohar )

Clarity in Torah & Tefilah “The secrets of the Torah will be revealed to him and his mind will become a source of
wisdom, since there is nothing greater [than rising to learn torah at night].” (Zohar I 92a)

TestimonialsTo date, 9,156 of our partners at Kollel Chatzos have contacted us to share their tales of miraculous deliveries. Here is a small sampling of the incredible reports that pour in constantly:
Engagement
“I contacted Kollel Chatzos regarding two of my cousins, older bachurim still seeking their bashert. Three weeks later our family celebrated the engagement of one of them. Shortly after that I was doubly overjoyed when the second of our “Kollel Chatzos boys” celebrated his engagement!”
Health Issues
“Our dear father was diagnosed with the big “C” and was facing chemo and radiation treatments. We were extremely fearful of the effects of chemotherapy since many relatives of other cancer patients shared with us how it adversely affects the patient, both physically and mentally. Several days after partnering with Kollel Chatzos the doctor relayed the great news: Our father was freed from chemo!”
Employment
“For years my husband worked tirelessly to bring home a salary to support our large family, but unfortunately, he became a victim of the dreaded downsizing. His unemployment caused not only financial issues for us, but also began impacting our marriage. A week after a friend suggested Kollel Chatzos, my husband found a most suitable and perfect job!”
Heavenly Protection
“While taking a stroll last Shabbos with our kids, my wife turned to my son for a split-second and our younger daughter took that inopportune moment to run into the busy street. There was a terrible screech of sudden braking…. As the relieved driver related in wonder later, ‘I don’t know how I noticed the small child, but something forced me stop.’ He may not know, but we surely do—It was our Kollel Chatzos partners learning in our merit!”
Legal Complications
“A short while ago, the Housing Department decided to target a property owned by my son and ‘discovered’ some sort of violation which prompted the immediate eviction of all the residents by the Police Department. I immediately called Kollel Chatzos to add my son’s name to my list and pray that he be cleared of this serious charge. Boruch Hashem, the tenants are back in their apartments and the violation has been voided!”
“Since my family consists of mostly young children, I was a bit hesitant about joining a kollel
with abnormal hours. But I will be the first to admit that I’ve never been more of a father than since I became a Kollel Chatzos member. I am home in the morning to help send my kids off to school and am there when they get off the bus. Unlike
most fathers today, I am able to sit down to a proper dinner with them each evening before helping with the nightly duties. My wife is more calm and happy than she’s ever been and our household has flourished because of the excellent decision to become a Kollel Chatzos member!”
“After two years of learning in a regular kollel, I felt a bit of a sense of disconnect. With appointments
and constant interruptions from either my phone or my chavrusa’s, I was running on such an erratic schedule that I was finding no joy in my daily learning. I made a choice to switch to Kollel Chatzos and my life has simply turned around! I have found a
new purpose in life and feel like a new person. Every night I sit down
to hours of nonstop learning without any distractions to otherwise occupy my mind. I have achieved more, spiritually and scholastically, in the last three months at Kollel Chatzos than I did in my two years of daytime kollel. And to top it all off, I play a big part in helping other people through the power of this famous and amazing segulah! What a blessing!”
“To be honest, I had a hard time imagining myself being able to commit to such a lifestyle change. I
felt I would be too tired to cope with both learning at such hours and being able to be a family man too. I could not have been more wrong! The energy that surrounds the kollel during the night is simply indescribable as the learning is done
not just for oneself, but for a group of Jews desperately in need of assistance. And the daily davening at vasikin is the highlight that ends the night – too soon – and instills a power that keeps you going all day. I see my kids more now than ever before and my wife appreciates the help that I can now offer because of my schedule. For me, it was the best possible life course change with only positive results!”
Joining a night study program is no minor undertaking. Yet our esteemed group of elite scholars report that it has proven to be wonderfully rewarding. They enjoy an unusually serene atmosphere with none of the typical daytime disturbances, allowing them to pursue their Torah studies with unbridled passion. But you don’t need to take out word for it….
Over the years we have heard the same answers repeated time and time again:
• When looking to sponsor serious Torah learning, there is no choice more obvious than Kollel Chatzos. Here, scholars who spend their day immersed in Torah study return to remain up at night for more. Clearly these are people who are completely devoted to Torah and will not waste a moment of their precious time. In
fact, many of our kollel members are rabbonim, dayanim and respected maggidei shiur.
• Anyone can learn Torah or daven with a minyan themselves. What sets apart the students at Kollel Chatzos is the fact that they do so during the rarified nighttime hours, when it is too difficult for everyone else. That is a merit that is beyond most people’s reach—if not for Kollel Chatzos!
Klal Yisroel’s Representatives
Let the Torah scholars of Kollel Chatzos daven and study on your behalf!
Why do people choose Kollel Chatzos when they are looking to support Torah, or for a special merit?
The high point of the nightly study session at Kollel Chatzos arrives when it comes time to recite the names of our sponsors and to pray on their behalf. Our kollel members approach this task with utmost seriousness, reciting
each name with full concentration and accompanying it with sincere prayers for whatever area of salvation that person has indicated.
Be it for oneself, a spouse, parent, sibling, child or friend, we all know someone who is in need. Our scholars take advantage of the rarified nighttime hours to beseech Heaven for a complete refuah, parnassah, shiduch, nachas from one’s children, zera shel kayama of whatever other need one is experiencing.
In addition to meriting these special prayers on your behalf at our Kollel, you can now request that these prayers be recited for you at our branch located at the site of the hallowed tomb of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai in Meron.
Submit your petition (kvittel) and join the thousands who have already benefited from the ultimate segulah—the Torah and prayers of Kollel Chatzos!P
The select Talmidei Chachamim who join our nighttime study program are predominantly – around 95% – individuals who spend their daytime learning Torah as well. A few are otherwise employed. They are all serious scholars who display utmost dedication to Torah. After resting for a few hours early in the evening they “rise like lions” to dedicate the second half of the night to Torah and Tefilah.
What inspired Kollel Chatzos to open a Torah center in Meron?
Meron is the resting place of one of the greatest proponents of midnight Torah study, as Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai lauds this practice numerous times in his Zohar. In fact, there is virtually no sedrah in the Zohar that does not make reference to this. Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai even writes that he himself made sure to awaken at midnight to learn Torah. He also writes that the prayers of those who rise at night to learn are readily accepted.

What makes Kollel Chatzos different from any other Kollel?
Kollel Chatzos is the only kollel in the US that maintains a daily study program after midnight, a time of day when no other Torah learning takes place. It is also a time when, according to numerous sources – especially from Kabalah – pure, uninterrupted Torah study is particularly meritorious and beneficial.
Why does Kollel Chatzos maintain separate branches in different cities?
We at Kollel Chatzos are very conscious of the fact that our midnight Torah learning offers protection and a source of blessing for the general public. We are proud to support branches of our kollel in various communities so that the merit of our Torah study will shield each of these cities. In addition, we believe it is vital for every major community to have a place where people can feel welcome to sit down and join in learning Torah at any time of day.
What could be more natural than to establish a branch of Kollel Chatzos to learn and offer tefilos on behalf of Klal Yisroel at the site of his kever?
How can I participate in this great mitzvah?
Your support enables us to maintain our kollelim and ensure that Torah study continues uninterrupted through the night as a source of merit for the greater community. The Kaf Hachaim writes that someone who cannot rise at night to learn should support others who do so. By becoming a sponsor of Kollel Chatzos you partner in all of our great work and earn a share in the tremendous reward for pure midnight Torah study. In return, we will have our scholars mention your name and request to be remembered in connection with their learning.
What happens to the names I submit? When you call us to have a name added it is immediately entered into our computer system. We compile lists for each branch of our kollel and ensure that the name you submitted is included on the correct list. Suppose you chose to sponsor the kollel in Williamsburg. We will place your name and request on the list sent to Kollel Chatzos there. Utter confidentiality is maintained throughout. The kollel scholars who recite the name and daven for your specific request do not know your identity.
Why does Kollel Chatzos offer various Segulos?
Our purpose is to establish Torah centers in every major city where the practice of Torah study continues through the night. However, our kollel members must be compensated commensurate to their difficult task of dedicating their nights to Torah. In order to help us meet our colossal annual budget of nearly $1.5 million, we also offer various segulos as an additional source of income for our kollel.
Most people have difficulty in taking advantage of the auspicious pre-dawn hours for prayer and Torah study. Since our kollel members are engaged in learning anyhow, they set aside half an hour each week from their nightly schedule to daven and recite these segulos as a service to the greater public.
How do I know which Segulah is right for me?
First and foremost, the nighttime Torah study is the greatest segulah of all. However, some people look for other segulos when they are in need of additional Heavenly assistance. Many feel an affinity to a particular segulah, or find one that holds special significance for them. If you cannot decide which one is right for you, call our office and one of our representatives will be glad to guide you in choosing the one that is right for your needs.FA
The Baal Shem Tov and all of his leading talmidim would get up at midnight to learn and daven!
“One should transform his days into nights and his nights into days. He should sleep more hours during the day in order to learn the entire night from midnight until morning.”
(Tzavoas HaRivash)
Dovid Hamelech “Dovid Hamelech merited royalty for all generations because he awoke at midnight to learn.”
(Zohar III 23a)
Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai
Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai extols this practice 105 times in the Zohar—more than any other topic. He writes that he himself awoke at midnight to learn Torah.
“Since the destruction of the Beis Hamikdash, there is no joy for Hashem except when Jews rise at midnight for the sake off Torah study.”
(Zohar I 231a)
Arizal “There is nothing greater than those who arise at midnight to learn. They decree below and their words are fulfilled on high….”
(Shaar Hakavanos)
Ohr Hachaim Rabbi Chaim be Attar, the holy Ohr Hachaim, never slept through midnight even during the short summer nights so he could learn Torah.
(Introduction to his sefer Rishon Letziyon)
Kaf Hachaim The mekubal Rabbi Chaim Falaji established a Kollel Chatzos fund in his city, Izmir, to support scholars who studied Torah at night!“Those who for whatever reason cannot wake up at midnight to learn should pay other to do so and they will be considered to have an equal portion in the Torah study and will merit salvation and success!”
(Pesach Hadvir Orach Chaim 1:11)
Chasam Sofer The Chasam Sofer instituted the practice in his yeshiva of having the students begin studying on Thursday nights at midnight in order to accustom them to getting up at midnight to learn.
Rav Yitzchak Kaduri zt”l, the senior mekubal of our times, writes in his sefer Divrei Yitzchak: “Although cancer is ravaging our generation by Heavenly decree, there is one thing we can do to stop it: the Ketores Segulah has the power to protect ones entire family from all forms of disease.”
The Only Segulah Mentioned in the Torah!
The Ketores Segulah of the Arizal
The Arizal describes the procedure for the Ketores Segulah: “Gather a group of 10 men to recite the seder of the Ketores together with great intensity, for it will create a great commotion above, but only if
it is recited after midnight.” (Shaar Hakavanos-Tfilas Hashachar 3)
The Talmud (Shabbos 89a) relates that at the time that Moshe Rabbeinu
received the Torah, the Angel of Death revealed to him the tremendous hidden
power of the Ketores as a gift. Later, when the Jewish nation was threatened
by a rampant plague, Moshe Rabbeinu commanded his brother Ahron to use
the Ketores to halt the plague, an operation in which Ahron was successful.
As such, the Ketores is the only segulah that was handed down to us whose
efficacy is clearly attested to in the Torah.
Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai says of the Ketores: “If people would know how
great the service of the Ketores is before the Holy One, blessed be He, they
would take each word and place it on their heads like a golden crown.” (Zohar
II 218b)
Kollel Chatzos Recites the Ketores Segulah
In keeping with the instructions of the Arizal, a minyan of Kollel Chatzos
Torah scholars assemble after midnight once a week to recite the Ketores
Segulah with intense concentration. The process takes approximately half
an hour, beginning with the reading of the Parshas Haketores, followed by the
verse Vaya’as es Hamenorah three times, V’Yehi Noam and the subsequent
chapter of Tehilim seven times and several more verses recited forward and
backward. When the Segulah has been completed, a special prayer is recited
for all those who have signed up to have their names mentioned.
At your request, Kollel Chatzos will arrange for a minyan to recite
the Ketores Segulah on your behalf at the kever of the Arizal in Tzfas.

Rabbi Chaim Vital, chief disciple of the Arizal writes: “It has been tried thousands of times and has invariably helped.”
Rashash Redemption
The Tried and Tested Segulah for Help in All Areas!
Redemption Segulah of the Rashash
This segulah has a long history since the time it was revealed by the great mekubal, Rabbi Shalom Sharabi of Yerushalayim. When Napoleon’s army approached, the Chasam Sofer performed the Redemption of the Rashash on behalf of all the residents of his hometown, Pressburg. During the subsequent fighting all of the homes were destroyed, yet not one Jew perished!
Reb Dov, the Magid of Mezritch, performed this segulah for a deathly ill woman and literally saved her life! When the mekubal Rabbi Mordechai Sharabi was asked to daven for the
sick he would perform this segulah, saying it is tried and tested and can therefore be relied upon.
Kollel Chatzos Performs the Rashash Redemption
This segulah begins with setting aside 160 coins of pure silver (Kollel Chatzos obtained such coins expressly for the purpose of performing this “redemption”), followed by various prayers and esoteric invocations. The scholars of Kollel Chatzos will perform this complex set of devotions at your request, reciting your name or those of your family as a merit for success, removal of illness or other problems.
The mekubal Rabbi Mordechai Sharabi had a disciple who was
already advanced in age and had only one daughter. This man
tried many segulos in the hope of being blessed with another
child, especially a son who would recite kadish for him after his
passing, but he saw no results.
Finally, late one night – it was already well after midnight –
he walked into the Beis Medrash and, tears streaming from his
eyes, he begged the Torah scholars who were studying there to
pray for him: “Take advantage of the segulah of the holy Ben Ish
Chai at this hallowed time so I may be blessed with a son.”
Wonder of wonders—this man was blessed with a son at the ripe old age of 70!
Rabbi Yosef Chaim of Baghdad, the venerated Ben Ish Chai, writes: “The husband and wife should provide for the needs of the holy group that rises at night and in that merit they will be blessed with children, and they should continue to do so always.” (Keser Malchus 160)
With our scholars up every night after midnight to study Torah on behalf of the community, you have a perfect opportunity to take advantage of this incredible segulah of the Ben Ish Chai! Call in to our office to submit your name immediately for our Torah scholars to pray on your behalf. Join the ranks of the many who are now proud parents after partnering in the holy work of Kollel Chatzos!
New Hope for Childless Couples through Segulah of the Ben Ish Chai!
The significance of learning Torah after midnight is stressed repeatedly in the Zohar, for a total of 105 times. In fact, there is virtually no portion in the Zohar that does not refer to this practice and Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai testifies that this was his personal practice. It follows, then, that there could be no more significant place to establish a Kollel Chatzos midnight Torah Center than at the hallowed kever of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai himself.
Kollel Chatzos is especially proud of this branch, which was established in Elul 5773 directly on the cave where the holy Tanna, the master of kabalah and author of the Zohar,
is enshrined. Now you too can have a share in the Torah of Rabbi Shimon by partnering with Kollel Chatzos and merit having your name or those you submit recited at the kever that is renowned around the world for the yeshuos achieved there.
Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai states: Hashem descends each night to join those who learn Torah after midnight. They are called the “friends of Hashem.” All the angels fear them, and they are granted entry through the royal gates and no one can obstruct them.” (Zohar III 92)
Call us to become a partner and have your name recited at the kever of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai—any time, or on the night of Lag B’Omer!

Prayers Recited at Amukah for You to Find Your Bashert
Meet Your Match
The long days and evenings waiting for the phone to ring…. Hours of investigating only to realize that you have been following a false lead…. Smiling for your friends as they become engaged one after another while you wait patiently for your own turn—will it ever come? Waiting, watching, listening and hoping, as days melt into one long blur of frustration, unrealized dreams, sadness and tears.
But there is hope.
The kever of the Rabbi Yonasan ben Uziel in Amukah is renowned as a special site where prayers to find your match are readily accepted. Thousands of young people flock there every year to pour out their hearts and daven that the merit of the saintly Tanna assists them to “meet their match.” And often the results are swift in coming. Everyone waiting to find that perfect partner knows that this is the place to turn.
Kollel Chatzos Intercedes for Your Shiduch
But even for those already in Eretz Yisroel, davening at Amukah

But if one cannot do so himself, he should at least support a Torah scholar who studies during the night hours and thereby have a share in his learning.
Praised is he who strives to achieve this, how good is his share and lot in the World to Come! No eye has seen the likes of his reward!
