Today we remember those who have given of themselves for our country, we reflect on

the blessings of liberty and the sacrifices that keep us free, we reflect on those special

people – our veterans – like you. Happy Veterans Day

On this Thanksgiving Day, let us take the opportunity to express our gratitude to the Lord

for all that he has given us. Have a wonderful and joyous Thanksgiving.

Obur Omod and his son, Ojulu Thatha, stand on the front porch of their Habitat for Humanity home that is in the process of being built right now.

The front door was donated by the Come Join Us Sunday School class. Their home should be finished in time for Christmas.

    Christmas Food Assistance

Wesley Community Services would like to announce that they are now

taking applications for the Christmas Assistance Program. In an attempt

to help more families enjoy a nice holiday dinner, we are only providing

food for the families who apply for assistance. In addition, those families

who have received assistance in the past can apply for assistance again

this year. Applications can be found in the Narthex or by the Christmas

Assistance bulletin board by the water fountain. Applications need to be

    completed by Friday, November 16th.

Many in the church have given generously in the past to help us make this program successful

and we still welcome that support. In the weeks to come we will share more about how you can

help with this program. Stay tuned!

Questions? Please see Vicki Jackson or Dee Ellen Davis.

“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.”

    Psalm 24:1 NIV

Wesley has a new treasurer who was hired in

October. Bill replaces Wesley member Chris

Miller, who held the position for over 7 years.

Bill comes highly qualified and will be a big

help organizing and advising the Finance

Committee on ways to save and stretch our

    dollars.

Bill has held several positions throughout his

career that complement his skills; he was a

previous bank branch and branch administra-

tion officer, previous business owner, has 18

years experience using Power Church software

and is currently the Treasurer with First United

    Methodist Church in Mooresville, Indiana.

    Welcome to Wesley, Bill!

    #GivingTuesday is a global movement - campaigns

happen in almost every country in the world.

This year’s #GivingTuesday falls on Tuesday,

    November 27, 2018.

Anyone, anywhere can get involved and give back

in a way that’s meaningful to them. There’s no

minimum or limit to how people can do good.

To learn more about #GivingTuesday and how to get involved, visit the official website @

    https://www.givingtuesday.org/.

The purpose of United Methodist Student Day

is to call upon the denomination to support United Methodist students as they prepare for

life by adding knowledge to their faith. The funds received from the offering go into the United Methodist Student Loan Fund to

underwrite scholarships for United Methodist students. The fund is administered by the General Board of Higher Education and

    Ministry.
