It is humbling to witness how God rewards faithfulness to our commitment to care for each other in His name. Over the past year, we have received many blessings through community support for Pine Haven and our mission. A great number of these came during the holiday season, as gifts for residents and staff. We were blessed to receive enough donations that each resident and each staff member received something for Christmas! Here are just some examples of the support we’ve received: Winkelhorst Fund - bequeathed by Le Roy and Arlene Winkelhorst for maintaining and improving our Giddings Avenue campus. Resident Christmas gifts were donated through the following efforts: • McClone Insurance - December employee donation efforts. Thrivent Financial of Sheboygan Falls - Community giving tree. • Knights of Columbus - resident gifts. • Love, INC - clothing protectors for mealtimes. Madison All Stars 4-H Club - resident gifts. Saron UCC - resident gifts. St. Paul’s Lutheran Church - resident gifts. Cheri Scott Schat and local merchants - Mary Kay products for residents. Sheboygan Falls YMCA - Socks for Seniors program. Sheboygan Falls School District - Kindergarten classes hand crafted decorations for our residents’ rooms. • Paul Hanson - In thanks for the care his parents received, Paul donated his time to take portraits of residents and their families, which we printed, framed, and wrapped as gifts. Acuity Insurance - To spread holiday cheer, 10 crates of goodies were provided as gifts for our staff. Women’s Auxiliary - $26,200 was donated to purchase equipment for fitness, infection control, life enrichment, and more! Blood is a perishable product that can only come from volunteer blood donors. With someone in the U.S. needing blood every two seconds, blood products must be constantly replenished, according to the Red Cross. Donors with all blood types are needed, especially those with types O negative, A negative and B negative. On January 26th, Pine Haven will partner with the Red Cross to hold a blood drive on our Haven Drive campus in our Community Center.Currently, the drive is scheduled to run from 1pm until 6pm, but those hours may be expanded if a large enough donor base signs up to donate. Walk-ins are okay, but we encourage everyone who can safely donate to sign up as soon as possible, so that we can expand the drive to add hours and save as many lives as possible. There are three ways those interested in donating can sign up for a time to donate: 1. Visit www.redcrossblood.org and enter the Sponsor Code “Pine Haven” in the blue box in the upper right corner of the page. Then select our drive and sign up for a slot.

Pine Haven Partners With Red Cross To Hold Blood Drive

As we mentioned on page 1, we received a donation of photography services to take family and/or resident photos for each resident, with the hopes of capturing precious memories of loved ones. If your family was not able to come together for a family photo at the time we had scheduled, but you would like a chance to set up a time for a photo to be taken, please contact Karin Oliver-Kreft at 920-550-5227 or via email at [email protected], and she’ll work with you and the photographer to try to set up a special session.
