• The relative location of the Maya is Central America. • The modern day country that inhabits where the Maya once

was are Guatemala and Mexico.

• The form of government that the Mayan people had was a monotheistic government.

• They had Kings and Queens that ruled. The Kings and Queens inherited the throne through birth.

• The Mayan people were polytheistic, or they believed in many gods and goddesses. They had over 190 gods and goddesses, they had one god for almost everything. The Maya believed in making sacrifices to their many gods and goddesses.

• Their most important crop was maze, or corn

• The animals they domesticated were turkeys, doves, and ducks

• Other practices were that they used irrigation to water their crops

Their cultural contribution was that they had the most advanced system of writing that contained pictures as symbols.Their scientific contribution was that they had a calendar system based on the Earth’s relationship to the Sun.
