STRATEGIES OF RESEARCH: three fields, eight profiles

• Contemporary studies with profiles in New Media, Urban studies – sustainable cities and processes of global change, and Sports in transition

• Learning for tomorrow’s society – research foundations in the teaching profession with a profile in Education science

• Health and welfare with three profiles in Oral health, Biofilm and Biomedical technology, and Social health and medicine

STUDENTS

• Approximately 22 000 students

• Average age 24,7 years

• Approximately 60% from Malmö, 20% from Skåne och 20% from the rest of Sweden

• 300 incoming exchange students per year

• Active recruitment policy targets a wide student base, especially from non-academic backgrounds

• 92,7% of the Malmö University graduates were employed in 2006

• More than 60% of students are women

A collaboration involving 12 institutions of higher education in the Øresund Region, 150 000 students, 6 500 postgraduate students and 14 000 researchers

• Internationalisation at HomeProvides all students at Malmö University with an international and intercultural dimension during their studies. Took this initiative to European network with 120 participants.
