The Brief• To Plan for the process of taking down the

wall.

• “We will focus on the idea of a site as a transition zone…”

Page 5: The wall 1

The Brief

• “This Wall is both a barrier and creates a sense of identity.”

• “This community is fractured and complex, but there was a strong sense of identity.”

CONCEPT

• Divide the Existing Wall into a grid

• Using a smart phone embed either a Photo or Graffitied section

• This will eventually produce a Virtual wall

• With Individual input from Devonport Residents

Page 16: The wall 1

Technology Task• Using open source technologies in the field of

Augmented Reality and Internet of Things

• Identify an object in a unique way and link any sort of multimedia digital information to it.

• Place spatially embedded information also using overlaid augmented Reality

Page 17: The wall 1

Our Plan

• To use Augmented reality with geolocation

• Image of a grid would be taken

• Geolocation of the grid would be used

• Image or Graffiti Data of the grid would then be loaded to a MySQL database

• The Layar application reads the data allowing a user via a smart phone to view the image in-situ

AR (Augmented Reality)

Augmented reality

(AR) layers digital

information onto a

physical environment

viewed through a

device such as a

smart phone.

Page 19: The wall 1

3)Then by using a smart phone you can return to that area and view your image as part of the wall

OUTCOME1)A brick or section would be identified picture of

person taken uploaded to database

2)The brick or section removed
