There are many other walks of different lengths and levels of difficulty that start and finish here. Walking Trails Walking Trails Kyeema Track 500m Low Difficulty Join the Kyeema Track after viewing the Memorial which the marks the spot where the Kyeema aircraft crashed on 25th October 1938. This scenic track takes you around to the base of SkyHigh. Walking Trails Stables Track 1.9kms Medium Difficulty After viewing the remains of the Doongalla Homestead and Stables and maybe even a picnic lunch you can take this moderate loop walk through some of the Doongalla Forest. Walking Trails 1000 Steps/ Kokoda Trail 3kms High Difficulty A favourite for fitness training and those interested in the history of the Kokoda Track. View commemorative plaques depicting the lives of soldiers who fought and died in WWII. Walking Trails Hardy Gully Nature Walk 700m Low Difficulty This easy Interpretive Walk from Grants Picnic Ground takes you back in time to ancient origins with signs that will introduce you to the cool temperate rainforest. Walking Trails Margaret Lester Walk 300m Low Difficulty A hard surfaced track especially designed for the disabled. The track starts at Grants Picnic Ground and weaves in a loop through spectacular forest and mountain ash. Walking Trails Sherbrooke Forest Walk 7.1kms High Difficulty This longer walk is moderate to difficult so allow yourself plenty of time to complete the loop and take some water on a warm day. Other walks start and finish here. Walking Trails Olinda Falls 300m Medium Difficulty After a good rain the falls will be flowing nicely. This has some steeper sections and if want to make it a longer walk you can take the track from Mechanics Reserve on the Tourist Rd. Via Eastern FreewayTake the Eastern Freeway from the northern side of Melbourne. Follow the Eastern Freeway to the end and take the Ringwood Bypass exit on the Eastlink and follow to the intersection of Maroondah Hwy and Mt Dandenong Rd. Follow Mt Dandenong Rd turning left at the end and onto Montrose Roundabout. Take the third exit which is Mt Dandenong Tourist Rd, following the sign to Olinda and Mt Dandenong.
Via Monash Freeway
Take the Monash Freeway via The West Gate Freeway and take the Ferntree Gully Rd exit. Follow to the intersection with Burwood Hwy and turn right. Follow the Burwood Hwy until you pass the Upper Ferntree Gully Train Station on your left and travel beneath the railway bridge.Take the left turn sign posted for Mt Dandenong, this is the Mt Dandenong Tourist Rd.
From Melbourne Train StationsTake the Belgrave Line leaving the train at Upper Ferntree Gully or take the Lilydale Line leaving the train at Croydon. Connect with bus service 688 at either station.

From Melbourne Train StationsTake the Belgrave Line leaving the train at Upper Ferntree Gully or take the Lilydale Line leaving the train at Croydon. Connect with bus service 688 at either station.

You can take one of two trains to the Dandenong Ranges depending on which side of the mountain you would prefer to go up.
Belgrave Line to Ferntree Gully
For the Ferntree Gully side, take the Belgrave Line leaving the trainat Upper Ferntree Gully. Connect with bus service 688 to go up the mountain or stay on the train until Belgrave for Puffing Billy.
Lilydale Line to Croydon
For the Montrose side, take the Lilydale Line leaving the train at Croydon. Connect with bus service 688 to go up the mountain.Visit www.ptv.vic.gov.au for timetables and ticket information.
Bus Route 688
The Bus Route 688 runs right over the mountain from Croydon Train Station to Upper Ferntree Gully Station via the Mount Dandenong Tourist Road. There are stops at all Villages along the way and outside the key tourist attractions.
