The Jefferson Memorial was built in memory of Thomas Jefferson , who was the third president of the USA. Ye was the author who wrote the Declaration of Independence.

The first president George Washington(1789-1797)

George Washington(1732-1799) became a real American hero. Some countrymen loved him so much that they wanted to crown him King but he rejected this idea. He is often called one of the Founding Father of the American nation.

The sixteenth president Abraham Lincoln (1861-1865)

Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865) was born in a log cabin and attended only one year of school. He taught himself everything he knew. So, by his work he paved his way to the presidency. Lincoln is known for fighting against slavery.

Theodore Roosevelt did a lot of good for his country. The interests of working people were close to his heart and he is remembered for his fight against financial monopolies and trusts to help economic growth. But the most importantly that he placed unique natural resources under government protection to preserve them for the future.
