Only valid when entering the U.S. by land and sea from

Mexico, Canada, the Caribbean, and Bermuda.

Birth in the United States

An applicant should submit a birth certificate or previously-issued U.S. passport book or passport card if born in:

• One of the 50 U.S. states or Washington, DC • Puerto Rico • Guam • U.S. Virgin Islands • Northern Mariana Islands • American Samoa (U.S. Nationals) • Swains Island (U.S. Nationals)
