When a union affiliates itself with the CSN, it becomes a member of the three links of the CSN : the confederation, the federation and the central council (conseil central). Consequently, it pays per capita fees to these 3 organizations. The balance stays in the union’s local funds.

Each $100 earned, the employer returns $1.80 of it to the union. The union then divides it in the following manner:
