Arranged by Matt Neufeld Eighth Note Publications The Twelve Tunes of Christmas ISBN: 9781554733422 CATALOG NUMBER: SQ2835 COST: $12.00 DURATION: 4:30 DIFFICULTY RATING: Medium Saxophone Quartet (SATB or AATB) www.enpmusic.com The Twelve Tunes of Christmas takes familiar Christmas melodies and throws them together in a way that will have your audience in stitches. Musical jokes, unpredictable twists, and possible ensemble hijinks pepper the piece. This is an excellent concert piece. This piece is based around a "stealing of control" for the members of the ensemble. The melody appears in every part several times: be sure to assert yourself when you have the tune! This piece can also benefit from some stage antics as well. The Twelve Tunes of Christmas incorporates twelve different melodies. Each of these melodies should have its own distinct "character" and "flavor". Experiment with this to find out what works for your group! Measures 179-180 can be played two ways: either the baritone sax plays the melody as written, or the other three saxes play their part as written. Use whichever of these options is comfortable with your group. Melodies included: The 12 Days of Christmas I Wish You A Merry Christmas Jingle Bells Silent Night The Holly and the Ivy Hava Nagilah I Saw Three Ships Angels We Have Heard On High Il est ne, le divin enfant Jingle Bell Rock Deck The Halls Hallelujah (from Messiah) PREVIEW ONLY
