Christian’s Glaas Bohtom Boets (Glass bottom boat) (Daily) - $42pp Our two Norfolk Islander’s, Donald & John, will share their knowledge of Norfolk’s unique marine life. Once you’ve ‘walked the plank’ with these ‘mutineer descendants’ it takes 60 seconds (yes one minute!) to be at the reef. View beautiful coral gardens & tropical fish inside the calm crystal waters of Norfolk’s lagoon. Donald & John provide full interesting commentary on this en-vironmental tour. With these two you should be prepared for a touch of Norfolk humour.

Pinetree Tours Island Culture Tour (Wed & Sat) - $40pp Experience the culture of our forebears! From our mutineer ancestors & their Tahitian wives came the arts of wood craft, weaving, cooking & our Norfolk Language.

On this tour see a woodturning demonstration using Norfolk tim-ber, visit Island homes where you’ll learn about our cooking.

Burning of the Bounty - $35pp Each year the reenactment of the Burning of the Bounty is recre-ated on Norfolk Island. January 23rd 1790 marks the fateful day the mutineers and their Tahitian wives burnt the ‘Bounty’ on Pit-cairn Island, forever stranding them. The ‘Bounty’ was their only way off Pitcairn Island but it was also the one thing that might alert passing ships of their presence. It had to go as they didn’t want to risk being found by authorities and hung at the gallows!

Locals and tourists alike join to commemorate the voyage of the Bounty Mutineers to their hideaway on Pitcairn Island. Each year several huge replica’s of the ‘Bounty’ are built at various loca-tions around the world, including Norfolk Island where several of the descendants of the Bounty now reside. Folks gather around to watch the replica go up in flames to music, dancing & feasting under the stars.

Christian’s 4WD Tours (Mon - Sat) - $60ppJoin john and his island staff – all direct descendents of the Boun-ty Mutineers; on an exciting 3 hour tour to points on Norfolk, ac-cessible only by 4WD. This back of beyond tour takes you through private properties and the national park featuring spectacular scenery, native flora & bird life. It also includes delicious home made cakes with tea & coffee at a beautiful island home. Don’t expect a rough race through the scrub. Drivers are conscientious and very knowledgeable. Baunti Escapes Artist’s Trail (Fri) - $58ppThis is a unique chance to meet local artists in their creative studios. You will meet a collection from: a local bone carver, a silk painter and potter, a mixed media artist, a laser engraver and a print maker. You will learn about how our stamp issues are produced. The ultimate experience will be a visit to the magnificent 360 degree panoramic painting at the Cyclorama, and meet the artists who created the amazing pictorial history of the mutiny on the Bounty and the Norfolk Island people.

With local historian, Arthur Evans, experience a journey back in time and participate in recreating some of the tasks necessary for survival in Norfolk’s early settlements. Learn of the aftermath of the famous mutiny on the Bounty from one of the descendants and view a collection of inherited family artifacts, some originat-ing in Pitcairn Island, at his home.

Pitcairn Settlers Village – Queen Elizabeth Avenue (Wed & Sat 9.30am & 1.30pm) - $33pp (booking direct with Charles)Learn about the colourful history of Norfolk Island’s most recent settlement – the Pitcairners and their descendants, on one of the last few remaining original settler’s properties. Experience the history & culture of the Pitcairn Settlers. View the magnificent homestead gardens, including many of the traditional crops. Ride in Norfolk’s first tour couch, a model A ford. View a film, visit a blacksmith’s forge, the original homestead, a WWII Army hut and Museum of Memorabilia. The tour takes approx 2.5 hours and includes light refreshments.
