Once upon a time there was little girl named Eleanor.

She works in this factory .

She sews here on the tenth floor everyday.

The factory is very dirty and unsafe. Many workers get injured each day.

On March 25, 1911 at Eleanor’s factory a huge fire broke out.

Eleanor tries to escape by jumping out the window and tumbles to her death.

Eleanor was not the only one to die. All together 146 women died.

The tragic fire became known as the Triangle Shirtwaist Fire. Because of

this fire new labor unions were formed to fight for workers rights.
