After an absence of a couple of years Jim Landress rejoined the club. He had been caring for his mother who passed away last fall. Thanks to Perky for a very interesting Tech session. I was sorry to hear about Robert Smith's problem with his '69 MG Midget. Hope he gets it fixed soon. Our meeting in July should be exciting. The voting on the additions to the By Laws will be conducted. I also hope to hear reports from Hank Rippert and Wes Kliner on their adventures during June. Hank attended MG 2011 in Reno, and Wes par- ticipated in the "Great Race" from Chattanooga to Vermont. There should be some great stories to hear. The June meeting looked like a "mini car show" with all the British cars parked in the lot beside the Golden Corral. The British taxi, owned by Barry Snyder (new member), was unique and drew a lot of attention. Barry let several people take rides and one or two even drove the taxi. Our next outing will be the "Wine Tour" to Monteagle and Manchester on Saturday July 16. We will meet at the Chattanooga Choo Choo (back at Grand Central Station) at 9AM. From Chattanooga the trip should be about 140 miles round trip. We will be making several stops including eating. If anyone knows of a good restaurant along the way let me know. Perky one time told me the group from Atlanta always stopped every 45 minutes to an hour for the 3 F's (Food, Fuel, and Flush). As I get older I believe we should add a S to the equation (Stretch) making it the 3F's and S. Remember you do not have to drive a British car. Drive what ever will run, and COME ALONG FOR THE FUN. I am looking at Saturday August 13th for a club drive to Desto State Park in Alabama. Remember to make plans to attend the car show at Joe Wheeler State Park, September 9-11. This is a beautiful venue, the lake, trees, and sail boats makes this a special car show. Remember Charles Long's statement to "run the wheels off." The only way to do that is to drive your car. I know it can be a frustration at times, as they break down, but when they run they "ARE GREAT." Having SBCC Fun (Running the Wheels Off) Mike
