The Importance of a Good Interface

The importance of a user-friendly

solution was paramount (Krug,2009). Careful care was taken to

identify a model that made sense.

The idea of a calendar-like interface

was critical feedback for this project.

Once the model was identified, time was

taken to implement the solution usingbest practices and technologies (i.e.

open source libraries, software

engineering processes).

Not only was important to record time

off, it was also important to verifyreporting and notify employees that time

reporting must be completed.

A number of internal processes were

helpful in testing and moving the projectcloser to completion.

Software engineering techniques (i.e.

unit testing, code reviews) were used to

validate development.
