THE
THEORY OF
EVERYTHING
EVENING HIGH SCHOOL OF AIGALEO
Motivated by our students' interest on
the biographical movies,
on Friday 20th January, we had screened,
at school, the film
“the theory of everything" based on the life and the work of
Stephen Hawking
The film is a 2014 British biographical drama directed by James Marsh
and describes the extraordinary story of one of the world’s
greatest living minds, the renowned astrophysicist
Stephen Hawking, who falls deeply in love with fellow
Cambridge student Jane Wilde.
Once a healthy, active young man, Hawking received an earth-shattering
diagnosis at 21 years of age
With Jane fighting tirelessly by his side, Stephen embarks on his most ambitious scientific work, studying the very thing he now
has precious little of – time. Together, they defy impossible odds, breaking new ground in
medicine and science, and achieving more
than they could ever have dreamed
The film was acclaimed in the worldwide critical reception, with
praise for the musical score, cinematography and the performance
of Eddie Redmayne..
..which earned him nominations for a variety of accolades in award shows and film festivals, including the Academy Award for Best Actor
The film received four Golden Globe Award nominations, winning the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Drama for Redmayne and Best Original Score for
Jóhannsson
