STUDIO WEST DANCE ACADEMYStudio West is conveniently located to all of Olympia. Our beautiful, light-filled studios on the west-side are spacious and provide ample room to stretch, bend, reach and grow. All of our studios feature state-of-the-art sprung dance floors and are generous in space to ensure all ages and abilities have the optimum environment in which to learn. Our dance academy’s 10,000-square-feet includes: waiting rooms, five studios (including the Beat Box-a studio exclusively for hip hop), four dressing rooms, a costume shop, dance boutique, air conditioning, a vending machine, drinking fountains, and free wi-fi. Classes are available in ballet, hip hop, jazz, tap, and contemporary – ask us about our new Boy’s Ballet program, too!
ARTISTIC STAFFStudio West’s strong faculty base of 14 instructors are highly qualified to offer exceptional dance education to all levels and abilities. Our faculty has trained and/or performed with companies such as: the San Francisco Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, the Joffrey Ballet, Ballet Memphis, the National Ballet of Caracas, Oregon Ballet Theater, Alabama Ballet, Ballet Idaho, City Ballet of San Diego, World of Dance LA and Audacity Cru.
PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIESStudio West Dance Theatre presents two full - length ballets a year, the Nutcracker and a spring production. Past spring ballets include Peter Pan, Cinderella, Coppelia, Alice in Wonderland, and Giselle. Additionally, Studio West’s advanced dancers participate in dance festivals and perform in our annual Charity Gala: Dance to Make a Difference. Over the past nine years, Studio West has supported many philanthropic organizations such as Family Support Center of South Sound, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Mercy Corps, Homeless Backpacks, SafePlace, Northwest Harvest, and the Hands-On Children’s Museum.
Studio West Dance Academy’s grand finale production is our all -school Spring Showcase, performed at the Washington Center for the Performing Arts. This incredible performance weekend is for our youngest dancers to our most advanced.
