Martha Washington Meeting: October 16th Gerald Anderson, a descendant of Bill Pickett, talked and answered questions about him. Bill was a world famous champion steer wrestler or bulldogger born in Taylor, Texas. President Sam was also knowledgeable about the life of Bill Pickett. Meeting: October 23rd The district governor, Jerry Chapman, was our speaker. Jerry gave a spirited talk on explaining Rotary to prospective and new members. He also stressed that new members should know about the Rotary Foundation, its purpose, and how money donated to it is used. At this meeting, we had seven visiting members from the Interact Club of Jarrell High School. Congratulations to Bill and Joanne Harrah on their 63 rd wedding anniversary. Future Meetings Oct. 30 th Delaney Dr. Michael Douglas- Texas Science Education Foundation Nov. 6 th Our club will take a field trip to Texas State Technical College in Hutto. Luxury coach travel will be provided by Jarrell ISD. Details and sign-up on our website. Nov. 13 th SC Ballroom Program: TBA Future Rotary Events Nov. 2-4 Sun City Arts and Crafts Fair Nov. 10 Rotary Day at the United Nations Dec. 15 Breakfast with Santa at the Community Center of Georgetown. Feb. 2 Foundation Dinner in Austin Arts and Crafts Fair It is a signature Rotary event and fundraiser for our club. Hopefully, each of us will be involved in some way.
