Volume 9, Issue 11 November 2017 The Stitchers’ Voice - The TSV Community Newsletter NOVEMBER!?!?! How did we get here, already?!?! I imagine I am not the only one thinking that. It seems nearly impossible that 2017 is almost over. Hopefully, we have all finished some stitching projects. Some will be starting new ones with the orphans purchased in the fabric orphanage event last month. Thank you to those who participated. 2018 is the 10th year for The Stitchers’ Village. I have plans to celebrate. If you have any suggestions for things you would like to see, please let me know. I have been glued to my computer working on some redesign projects for the site. I should be able to have a Christmas page up for next month. I have the prizes!!! I think I have put together an “old style” clickable image page that will work. Wish me luck! The computer programming has changed so much in the past 10 years. . . I hear that Nordic Needle is closing soon. That is a great loss for stitching. There is also one of the main wholesale companies retiring - Norden Crafts. We hate to see things change, sometimes. But it goes to show that nothing stays the same and we can only try to keep up with the changes. I had a bit of a “fail” on my attempt at a finishing technique. I think the key to the fail is my lack of practice on the sewing machine. I will give the technique a few more attempts before abandoning it. There are days when being a “jack of all trades and a master of none” is a negative. I should consult someone who does a lot of quilt piece sewing. They probably would have mastered what it takes to do what I imagine. I intended to offer some kits for the ornament in the “Stitch This” feature, but could not get the final product and instructions since it did not turn out how I thought it would. I cropped the photo to minimize the oops showing. Sometimes my creative genius is ahead of my skill set. Happy Stitching! The Stitchers’ Voice - The TSV Community Newsletter
NOVEMBER!?!?! How did we get here, already?!?! I imagine I am not the only one thinking that. It seems
nearly impossible that 2017 is almost over. Hopefully, we have all finished some stitching projects.
Some will be starting new ones with the orphans purchased in the fabric orphanage event last month.
Thank you to those who participated.
2018 is the 10th year for The Stitchers’ Village. I have plans to celebrate. If you have any suggestions
for things you would like to see, please let me know. I have been glued to my computer working on
some redesign projects for the site. I should be able to have a Christmas page up for next month. I have
the prizes!!! I think I have put together an “old style” clickable image page that will work. Wish me luck!
The computer programming has changed so much in the past 10 years. . .
I hear that Nordic Needle is closing soon. That is a great loss for stitching. There is also one of the main
wholesale companies retiring - Norden Crafts. We hate to see things change, sometimes. But it goes to
show that nothing stays the same and we can only try to keep up with the changes.
I had a bit of a “fail” on my attempt at a finishing technique. I think the key to the fail is my lack of
practice on the sewing machine. I will give the technique a few more attempts before abandoning it.
There are days when being a “jack of all trades and a master of none” is a negative. I should consult
someone who does a lot of quilt piece sewing. They probably would have mastered what it takes to do
what I imagine. I intended to offer some kits for the ornament in the “Stitch This” feature, but could not
get the final product and instructions since it did not turn out how I thought it would. I cropped the
photo to minimize the oops showing. Sometimes my creative genius is ahead of my skill set.
