The Stealth™ air-cooled chiller was designed to meet the demanding requirements of today's environment. The design transforms technology into performance on which you can depend. Trane engineers brought innovation to every component in the next-generation Trane® Stealth chiller. The result: the highest efficiency, improved system flexibility and performance, and the lowest published sound levels - all while delivering improved reliability and lower maintenance requirements. At the core of the Stealth air-cooled chiller’s performance is AdaptiSpeed™ technology - the integration of an all-new, direct-drive, specific-speed screw compressor; permanent magnet motors and the Trane third-generation Adaptive Frequency™ drive, AFD3. AdaptiSpeed Technology AdaptiSpeed technology delivers unmatched efficiency with some of the lowest sound levels in the industry. The AFD3 offers a part-load efficiency improvement of more than 40 percent when compared to constant-speed chiller designs. Designed to last the life of the chiller, AFD3 is liquid cooled and contains durable film capacitors. The AFD3 has a complete modular design. This allows for relatively easy and

inexpensive replacement time and cost for single components. Direct-drive, specific-speed screw compressor - This technology delivers peak efficiency under all operating conditions. Compared to the previous compressor, this updated design which is optimized for variable-speed operation yields a up to 10 percent improvement in compressor efficiency. Permanent-magnet motors - The compressor’s permanent-magnet motor design is up to 4 percent more efficient than conventional induction motors. Permanent-magnet, variable-speed, motors are also used in the Stealth™ condenser fans. These condenser fan motors offer an efficiency improvement of 2 percent or more at full-load operation, and 5 percent or more at part-load operation. Ownership Value Compact, high-performance, integrated, low-charge (CHIL) evaporator technology optimizes refrigerant flow for improved efficiency and better cooling performance, while using less refrigerant than traditional flooded designs. This helps to earn LEED point(s) for the energy and atmosphere section.

We are pleased to report that the Trane Hong

Kong Seminar was successfully held on 19 May

2015 in Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel.

Entitled “Next Gen Design and Technologies”,

the first session started with the application of

green condenser water system on chilled water

plant presented by Mr. Peter Lau, Application

Manager from Ingersoll Rand. Dr. Philip Yu,

Environmental and Application Engineering

Director, Climate Solutions Asia Pacific Region,

Ingersoll Rand, then shared the latest

development of next generation refrigerants.

The last session was presented by Assistant

General Manager of Trane Hong Kong, Mr. Albert

Lo. Mr. Lo gave audience a brief idea about

Trane Stealth™ Air-Cooled Chiller and Air-Fi™

wireless technology for building controls, with

further elaboration of the product application and

features.

Over 180 people from developers,

consultants, government departments and

professional bodies participated in the

seminar, we would like to thank the

audience for enthusiastic response and

speakers for unstinting support.

是次研討會主題為「新一代設計及科技」。研

討會的第一部份首先由英格索蘭系統應用經

理劉子健先生講解綠色冷凝水系統於冷水機

組的應用。隨後，特靈亞太區環保及應用技術

總監余中海博士與大家分享了新一代製冷劑

的發展。

研討會下半部份由特靈香港助理總經理勞燦

On 19th April 2015, over 500 Jardines’ executives, employees from all business units, business associates, with their families and friends joined Walk Up Jardine House to raise record over HKD4 million to mark its 30th anniversary. The funds were raised for MINDSET, a registered charity body established by Jardine Matheson Group to help people suffering from mental illness.

Walk Up Jardine House was organized by the Jardine Ambassadors from MINDSET. As one of the Jardine Ambassadors, Ronald Kong from New Buildings Market Department represented Trane and supported the event.

To share the latest technology and product information, a technical seminar has been held for Arup Building Sustainability Group on 9 July 2015 organized by Trane Hong Kong. Presentation started with “Next Gen Refrigerant” presented by Dr. Philip Yu, Environmental and Application Engineering Director, Climate Solutions Asia Pacific Region, Ingersoll Rand. It followed by “Stealth Chiller” by Chris Leung and “Air-Fi Controls” by C. W. Chau from Trane Hong Kong respectively.

2015 for Tsim Sha Tsui New World

around 12,900 refrigeration tonnages (RT).

On 30 April 2015, a memorable day in Trane, staff gathered at Hong Kong Football Club to say farewell to Operations Director of Trane Hong Kong, Ir Dr. K. L. Chan. All Trane Hong Kong staff enjoyed the dinner and was happy to share the precious moment.

Ir Dr. K. L. Chan had joined Trane Joint Venture in 1993 and had held various senior positions. We wish him every success in the future.

Trane Hong Kong has been selling air-conditioning equipment to most of the luxurious hotels and casinos in Macau market since 2008. Our major customers included Wynn Resorts Limited, Shun Tak Holdings Limited and Hongkong Land, the Venetian, Galaxy Macau, and Louis XIII Holdings Limited. We have installed, tested and commissioned around 100,000 refrigeration tonnages (RT). Our service team also works to ensure that all the equipment is running well and efficiently.

Recently, Mr. K. K. Leung, Director & General Manager of TYS Limited led our colleagues to visit the chiller plant on site at Galaxy Resorts Phase 2. They were all inspired by the equipment installed there: 7

sets of 2500RT HV chiller and 4 sets of 1000RT LV chiller. After testing and commissioning, the customers have all been very happy about the chillers’ performance and our team’s technical support.

Trane in Macau 特靈在澳門

特靈香港自2008年起已向澳門市場多個豪

華酒店和賭場提供空調設備。我們的主要客

有限公司及置地控股有限公司、澳門威尼斯

人、澳門銀河、路易十三集團有限公司。已

安裝、測試及使用的空調設備達約100,000

冷噸。我們的服務團隊亦致力提供保養服

務，確保所有設備均以優越高效的狀況運

作。

最近，TYS有限公司董事兼總經理梁基強先

生帶領一眾同事到澳門銀河二期的冷水機

房視察。眾人對安裝了的設備感到鼓舞，其

中包括7台2,500冷噸高壓冷水機組及4台

1,000冷噸低壓冷水機組。經過一輪測試及

使用後，客戶對冷水機組的表現及我們的技

術支援均表示非常滿意。

The Peak Galleria has been awarded “Gold” rating under the BEAM Plus Version 1.1. Trane provided comprehensive support to our client - Hang Lung Project Management Limited in fulfilling some of the BEAM Plus requirement. This is the first “Gold” rating awarded project in “Existing Building” category of BEAM Plus.

Understanding one of the main obstacles during the certification process is high energy consumption of old air-cooled chiller plant. To enhance the energy efficiency, Trane had replaced the old system by three sets of RTHD water cooled screw chiller with a total cooling capacity tonnage of 1,050.

On 26 May 2015, The Hong Kong Institution of

Engineers Buildings Services Division (HKIE

BSD) held its 28th Annual Dinner at JW Marriott

Hotel Hong Kong. Trane sent representatives to

of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating

and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) Hong

Hong Kong Air-conditioning Parts Centre has become the

distributor for b-MOLA (NCCO) - Nano Confined Catalytic

Oxidation (NCCO) Air Purification system. NCCO

sustainable technology is an innovative technology

patented and developed by the member of the

Entrepreneurship Center of the Hong Kong University of

Science and Technology.

This technology is widely applied in hospitals, shopping

malls, mass transit railways, airports, commercial buildings

and public refuse collection points. NCCO is considered a

safe air purifying system which can remove pollutants such

as allergens, viruses, bacteria and TVOC without releasing

any oxidant in the air.
