What were the consequences of poverty?

Charlie Chaplin’s character and the Tramp

The Tramp was Charlie’s favourite character because he thought everyone could identify with him, especially the poor.

Charlie was a leading humanist, someone who has written scripts that took the defense of the humble, the poor and the exploited people.

His work is social, his character, the Tramp, is a revolt against injustices. “ Failure is unimportant. It takes courage to make a fool of yourself. ” Charlie Chaplin
