TheSmithSchoolresumeguidelinesensurethatyourSmithMSresumemeetstheappropriatepresentationstandardsexpectedbyrecruitersandhiringmanagersintheMSjobmarket.ThishelpsstrengthenourSmithbrand,whichinturnenhancesthevalueofyourMSdegree.TheSmithMSresumetemplateisdesignedtocreateresumesthat:

• presentcriticalqualificationsinaformatfamiliartoMSrecruiters;

• helpprospectiveemployerseasilyidentifyandassessyourskillsandaccomplishments;

• effectivelymarketyourexperienceandachievementsforthecareerpath(s)youarepursuing;

• areconsistentwithindustrystandardformatsthatemployersexpectfromMSstudents;

HowdoIgetstarted?–StyleandFormattingGuidelinesTheorderofyourSmithresumesectionsshouldbeasfollows:

1. Yournameandcontactinformation:Yournameshouldbe14pointCalibrifont.Youraddress,phonenumberandemailaddressgojustbelowyourname.YourLinkedInURLwillgobelowthatonthethirdline.Optionally,youmayincludeadditionalsocialmediaaddresses.Youremailandsocialmediaaddressesshouldnotbeunderlinedandshouldbewritteninblack.Youmayaddafourthlinetohighlightsecurityclearancesorworkauthorizations.

2. CareerTarget:Thissectionismeanttohighlightyourcareerpreferencesothatemployerscaneasilyidentifywhatyouaretargeting.

3. Education:Listyourdegreesinreversechronologicalorder,currentdegreeprogramfirst.Donotlisthighschoolorprepschool.Ifapplicable,youmayalsolistscholarships,leadership/membershipinstudentorganizations,casecompetitions,andrelevantcoursework.
