We are proud to have served so many children and families in our current building. We have worked hard to main- tain our building and to make it a pleas- ant place for children to learn and to play. However, we are now in our 63rd year of service for our current building. The cost of maintaining our current building is becoming higher each year. The challenges of interfacing new tech- nologies with a 63 year old building pre- sent us with certain limitations. After careful analysis, it has become clear that building a new school is a better option than to contend with the growing maintenance cost associated with our current building or to even do major renovations to the current building. The option of building a new school is the best way to ensure that we will be pre- pared to provide a high quality educa- tional experience to the children in our community for many more years to come. Furthermore, in the spirit of good stewardship, building a new school rep- resents the most cost-effective option for Enota’s future. While the current building has served our needs for many years, we are excited about the pro- spects of a new building and what the future holds for the Enota family!

Timeline Fall 2015—The school board assessed the condition of our current building.
January 2016 through November 2016—Preliminary plans for the new building and for the
2017-2018 transition school year were prepared with the input of Enota staff and commu-
nity. Revisions to the plans were made based on community input. The board approved

tion school year in November 2016.

struction will begin shortly thereafter.

Transition Plan Where will Enota classes be? Enota classes will be housed in the main Centennial building as well as the two modular units that Centen-
nial was previously using.
Will Enota have classes in the modular at the 9th grade center or any other part of the 9th grade center? No. Enota will have all of its
classes housed in the main building at Centennial and the modular units at Centennial. However, we can use the cafeteria or gym at the
9th grade center for special evening events when and if needed.
What about activity classes? Most of Enota’s activity teachers will be mobile, going to regular classrooms for their classes.
What about car rider traffic? Enota car traffic will enter and exit using the Woods Mill access to the campus. Car rider traffic will be di-
rected through what has been the bus and maintenance parking lot. Other areas have been identified for the buses and transportation
to use during the transition school year. Enota’s car rider students will enter and exit from the small modular. Centennial car riders will
continue to use the same entrance and exit at Chestatee that they have already been using.
What about buses? Buses will still serve Enota students just as they always have. However, the option of a satellite location for bus pick-
up is being explored. This would allow parents to drop off and pick up their children at a location away from the school. A bus will
transport students between the satellite location and the school. This will allow parents to avoid driving onto the school campus.
What about parking? Parking will be expanded on the transition campus to include the area at the current transportation and mainte-
nance lot.
What about breakfast and lunch? The nutrition department will serve Enota and Centennial students from the Centennial cafeteria.
Different grade levels from both schools will take turns eating in their classrooms.
What about recess? Enota and Centennial will share the outdoor play areas for recess. There will be some times when both schools are
at recess at the same time.
What about special events? There are several events that have come to be a part of the Enota tradition each year. Our “Be the One”
rallies, our MI Fair, our grade level musicals, and other such events are a part of the Enota culture. We will continue to have these spe-
cial events during the transition school year. We are fortunate to have access to the gym at Woods Mill should we need to use it. We will
work with the administration from Centennial to carefully schedule our events so that conflicts with Centennial events can be avoided
What about the Enota Media Center? Enota will continue to provide media services for our students and staff. Some of our media center
holdings will be divided among classroom teachers during the transition year for classroom libraries. The rest of the media center re-
sources will be stored. The media specialist will rotate materials in and out of classrooms to keep a fresh set of books available to stu-
dents during the school year.
Where will Enota’s front office be? Parking will be available in what is now the transportation and maintenance lot. This lot is near to the
small modular that Enota will be using. Our front office will be the first room on the right when walking in the small modular.
